Spatial Dependence in Apartment Offering Prices in Hamburg
This paper applies spatial econometric techniques to a hedonic apartment price model employing maximum-likelihood techniques. Accounting for spatial dependence of Apartment offering prices in Hamburg, Germany, the empirical analysis uses a semi ...

Perceptions of female age, health and attractiveness vary with systematic hair manipulations
Two experiments were conducted to study how lay individuals evaluate systematic changes in female head hair. The results showed that participants tended to rate high‐shine hair more favourably than lower‐shine hair. When combining shine with alignment and volume, straight‐aligned hair with high shine and low volume was generally perceived as more ...

Do Regions with Entrepreneurial Neighbors Perform Better?: A Spatial Econometric Approach for German Regions [PDF]
We use a neoclassical production function to analyze the effects of knowledge spillovers via entrepreneurship on economic performance of 337 German districts. To take the spatial dependence structure of the data into account, we estimate a spatial Durbin

The Mundlak Approach in the Spatial Durbin Panel Data Model
Abstract This paper extends the Mundlak approach to the spatial Durbin panel data model (SDM) to help the applied researcher to determine the adequacy of the random effects specification in this setup. We propose a likelihood ratio (LR) test that assesses the significance of the correlation between regressors and individual effects.

Cohesion Policy and Institutional Quality Impact: Does Urban–Rural Classification Matter?
Abstract This study examines the impact of Cohesion Policy, and institutional quality, on regional economic performance across NUTS2 regions in 27 EU member states from 2007 to 2022. Average per capita Cohesion Policy payments are much higher in less developed regions, showing the policy focus on supporting lagging areas.

A correlated random effects spatial Durbin model
We consider a correlated random effects specification of the spatial Durbin (dynamic) panel model with an error-term containing individual effects and their spatial spillovers. We derive the likelihood function of the model and the asymptotic properties of the quasimaximum likelihood estimator.

Background Reward learning is thought to undergo refinement in adolescence, but little is known about how computational components of reinforcement learning develop. Given that adolescence is a sensitive period for reward system plasticity with associated vulnerability for depression, it is important to understand developmental trajectories of ...

Abstract A new single nucleotide polymorphism (SNP) panel for genetic stock identification in the Teno river Atlantic salmon, Salmo salar L., fishery was developed, with a view to improving on an existing microsatellite panel. Twenty‐two genetically differentiated reporting units were proposed based on population genetic analyses of 1212 individuals ...
