We study the dynamics of spatial averages of spatially extended dynamical systems. We present various examples of lattice dynamical systems to show the possibility of different behaviors, including asymptotically constant, periodic, and non-periodic, of spatial averages.

We consider the expanded class of one- and two-dimensional spatial solitons that exist when the soliton is a compound entity composed of two orthogonal beams [1-3]. These solitons propagate in a homogeneous isotropic medium whose refractive index has an arbitrary dependence on intensity.

Fuzzy spatial objects and their dynamics
ISPRS Journal of Photogrammetry and Remote Sensing, 2000Many monitoring activities of environmental processes deal with phenomena that are fuzzy. Their spatial description cannot be based on the geometry of their boundaries, because these cannot be identified. In fact, such phenomena have an uncertain thematic description and that is often the reason why their spatial extent can only be determined with ...

The study of the dynamic behaviour of radiopharmaceuticals within a patient using a scintillation camera with data acquisition and processing facilities often presents analytical problems because of the limited data available. In the effort to maintain good spatial resolution sensitivity is often needlessly reduced producing further limitation in the ...
