Programmable purification of type-I polarization-entanglement [PDF]

open access: yes, 2010
We suggest and demonstrate a scheme to compensate spatial and spectral decoherence effects in the generation of polarization entangled states by type-I parametric downconversion. In our device a programmable spatial light modulator imposes a polarization

Effect of spatial waveform on apparent spatial frequency

open access: yesVision Research, 2002
We examined the effect of spatial waveform on the perceived spatial frequency of a grating target. The luminance profile of 0.5 c/ degrees sinusoidal gratings was modified by either compressive or expansive power functions, and was presented alternately with a true sinusoidal grating.

URBAN GROWTH AND SPATIAL DEVELOPMENT ALONG TRANSPORT CORRIDORS IN DUJAIL MUNICIPALITY [PDF]

open access: yesScientific Journal of Silesian University of Technology. Series Transport, 2018
Often, most cities grow as a result of the increase in population in addition to increased urbanization in developing cities, including in Iraq. Where urban growth is defined as a set of phenomena, which offers geographical, economic, social and ...

The impact of technological innovation on transport carbon emission efficiency in China: Spillover effect or siphon effect?

open access: yesFrontiers in Public Health, 2022
It is currently unknown whether technological innovation will have spillover or siphon effects on transport carbon emission efficiency (TCEE). Therefore, this paper creates a spatial econometric model to explore the spatial effect of technological ...

Spatially dependent Kondo effect in Quantum Corrals

open access: yes, 2006
We study the Kondo screening of a single magnetic impurity inside a non-magnetic quantum corral located on the surface of a metallic host system. We show that the spatial structure of the corral's eigenmodes lead to a spatially dependent Kondo effect ...

Spatial Reorientation: Effects of Verbal and Spatial Shadowing [PDF]

open access: yesSpatial Cognition & Computation, 2007
ABSTRACT Spatially disoriented adults flexibly conjoin geometric information (macroscopic shape) and nongeometric information (e.g., the color of a wall) to re-establish their bearings. It has been proposed that non-geometric information is incorporated into a geometric frame of reference through the use of spatial language. Support for this assumption

Does Fiscal Decentralization Promote or Inhibit the Improvement of Carbon Productivity? Empirical Analysis Based on China’s Data

open access: yesFrontiers in Environmental Science, 2022
Based on the panel data of 30 provinces in China from 2010 to 2019, this study empirically analyzes the relationship between fiscal decentralization and carbon productivity using a spatial econometric model and calculates the direct effect, spatial ...

Human frontal eye fields and spatial priming of pop-out [PDF]

open access: yes, 2007
"Priming of pop-out" is a form of implicit memory that facilitates detection of a recently inspected search target. Repeated presentation of a target's features or its spatial position improves detection speed (feature/spatial priming).
