Spatial Structure of Trade Flows
2021Today’s trade is radically more complex. The global economy is shaped by two powerful factors. First is by the widespread of multinational corporations (MNCs). Second is through the resurgence of region formation. Regionalization has emerged as a well-known feature of international trade.

Spatial instability of a swirling flow
Applied Mathematics and Mechanics, 1984The instability of a swirling flow of an inviscid and incompressible fluid is studied on the assumption that the wavenumber \(k=k_ r+ik_ i\) of the disturbance is complex while its frequency \(\omega\) is real. This implies that the disturbance grows with distance along the axis of the swirling flow, but it does not grow with time.

A Frequency Selection Criterion in Spatially Developing Flows
Studies in Applied Mathematics, 1991The possible existence of global modes or self‐excited linear resonances in spatially developing systems is explored within the framework of the WKBJ approximation. It is shown that the existence and properties of the dominant global mode may be deduced from the variations of the local absolute frequency ω0 with distance X.

Spatial Decay of Time-Dependent Oseen Flows
SIAM Journal on Mathematical Analysis, 2009We consider an initial-boundary value problem for the time-dependent Oseen system in a three-dimensional exterior domain. We show that weak solutions of this problem may be represented by a sum of volume and single layer potentials. This representation is then used in order to study spatial decay of weak solutions.

On the Mechanism of Spatial Bifurcations in the Open Flow System
International Journal of Bifurcation and Chaos, 1997The phenomenon of spatial bifurcations in the open flow system (OFS), which is a unidirectionally coupled map lattice, is investigated. The bifurcation conditions are obtained by analyzing the effect of deterministic discretization of the system's state when the OFS is simulated by the computer.

Optical Flow as Spatial-Temporal Attention Learners
IEEE Transactions on Pattern Analysis and Machine IntelligenceOptical flow is an indispensable building block for various important computer vision tasks, including motion estimation, object tracking, and disparity measurement. To date, the dominant methods are CNN-based, leaving plenty of room for improvement. In this work, we propose TransFlow, a transformer architecture for optical flow estimation. Compared to

Spatial Difusion and Commuting Flows [PDF]
In this paper, I investigate the effects of short- and long-distance commuting flows on the spatial diffusion of ideas or practices, through a stylized computational model of two spatial units. Located at fixed places within each spatial unit, individuals interact exclusively with their spatial neighbors. Commuters live and work at different locations,
