Measurements in two bases are sufficient for certifying high-dimensional entanglement

open access: yes, 2018
High-dimensional encoding of quantum information provides a promising method of transcending current limitations in quantum communication. One of the central challenges in the pursuit of such an approach is the certification of high-dimensional ...

Enhanced resolution and throughput of Fresnel incoherent correlation holography (FINCH) using dual diffractive lenses on a spatial light modulator (SLM)

open access: yesOptics Express, 2012
Fresnel incoherent correlation holography (FINCH) records holograms under incoherent illumination. FINCH was implemented with two focal length diffractive lenses on a spatial light modulator (SLM). Improved image resolution over previous single lens systems and at wider bandwidths was observed. For a given image magnification and light source bandwidth,

Real-time, broadband beam shaping with programmable freeform topologies

open access: yesJPhys Photonics
Phase-only spatial light modulators (SLMs) offer versatile beam shaping, but are limited to monochromatic operation due to diffractive dispersion. A potential solution is to implement the smooth wavefront transformation of refractive freeform optics as a

Full-color computational holographic near-eye display

open access: yesJournal of Information Display, 2019
Near-eye displays (NEDs) are an excellent candidate for the future of augmented reality. Conventional micro-display based NED designs mostly provide stereoscopic 3D experience, which leads to visual discomfort due to vergence-accommodation conflict ...

Digital inverse patterning solutions for fabrication of high-fidelity microstructures in spatial light modulator (SLM)-based projection lithography

open access: yesOptics Express
Digital mask projection lithography (DMPL) technology is gaining significant attention due to its characteristics of free-mask, flexibility, and low cost. However, when dealing with target layouts featuring sizes smaller than the wavelength scale, accurately producing resist patterns that closely match the target layout using conventional methods to ...

Optical correlators for automated rendezvous and capture [PDF]

open access: yes
Two dimensional image correlation is a robust technique for recognizing known objects and determining their position with respect to the sensing platform. This capability is of paramount importance to vehicles which must rendezvous and capture using only

Design of coupled mace filters for optical pattern recognition using practical spatial light modulators [PDF]

open access: yes
Spatial light modulators (SLMs) are being used in correlation-based optical pattern recognition systems to implement the Fourier domain filters. Currently available SLMs have certain limitations with respect to the realizability of these filters ...

Phase shifting Interferometry and Wavefront Compensation using Liquid Crystal on Silicon (LCOS) Spatial Light Modulator (SLM)

open access: yes
We present a simple and novel technique for interferometric surface measurement using a Liquid Crystal on Silicon (LCOS) Spatial Light Modulator (SLM) as phase shifter and wavefront-compensator simultaneously. In comparison to a mechanical piezo-based phase shifter measurement, speed and measurement range can be increased by this approach.
