qp-SLM: An open-source holography suite for spatial light modulators

Conference on Lasers and Electro-Optics, 2022
We present qp-SLM, a python software package for high-performance control of phase-only spatial light modulators. We demonstrate qp-SLM for automated trimming of a 64-pixel photonic crystal SLM by picometer-precision thermal oxidation.

Acousto-optic spatial light modulator (SLM) based on KYW crystal

Laser Beam Shaping XX, 2020
We designed a new configuration of acousto-optic spatial light modulator based on biaxial crystal KY(WO4)2 (KYW). This material has proved to be a good candidate to fill the gap between paratellurite having high acousto- optic efficiency and quartz having low efficiency but high laser-induced damage threshold.

Single-shot quantitative phase imaging with phase modulation of a liquid crystal spatial light modulator (LC-SLM) under white light illumination

Optics Letters, 2022
We propose a novel, to the best of our knowledge, single-shot quantitative phase imaging (QPI) technique with the phase modulation of a liquid crystal spatial light modulator (LC-SLM) under white light illumination. By studying the phase modulation characteristics of an LC-SLM under white light illumination, images captured at different wavelengths are

Smart Spatial Light Modulators (SLMs) on Si/PLZT

Spatial Light Modulators and Applications, 1990
In the last few years extensive efforts have gone into the development of spatial light modulators (SLMs) for the realization of massively parallel optical processors [1-3]. The silicon-PLZT SLM approach is a promising approach and has the potential of combining the computational power of silicon with the communication capacity of optical interconnects

Static and dynamic stereoscopic computer-generated holography (CGH) with spatial light modulators (SLM)

Imaging and Applied Optics Congress, 2020
In this paper we demonstrate for the first time static/dynamic stereoscopic holographic reconstructions in the visible range with two spatial light modulators (SLM). Stereoscopy is achieved by exciting two separate SLMs with two different wavelengths.

The effect of spatial light modulator (SLM) dependent dispersion on spatial beam shaping

SPIE Proceedings, 2013
SLMs used for spatial modulation of lasers are often used in conjunction with very narrow bandwidth laser light where diffractive dispersion could be approximated as a constant. It is known that diffractive dispersion is inversely proportional to wavelength and this effect can be compensated for depending on the optical set-up. SLMs use birefringent

Comparison of Image Encoding Using Random Mask Generated by Spatial Light Modulators (SLM)

2021
The present method describes two simple yet robust methods for image encoding and decoding using random masks. The first method is based on sequential convolution and deconvolution of a random mask over the image in the image domain whereas the second method is based on multiplication and division of the same.

Implementation of Spatial Light Modulator(SLM) using a Commercial LCD Beam Projector

Journal of the Korean Institute of Illuminating and Electrical Installation Engineers, 2006
In this paper, a new high resolution XGA-SLM is implemented through modification of a commercial TFT-LCD beam projector and its optical modulation characteristics as a spatial light modulator(SLM) is also analyzed. First, the optics module, projection lamp and fans are removed from a commercial beam projector and instead, some electric circuits to ...
