SLM microscopy: scanless two-photon imaging and photostimulation using spatial light modulators [PDF]

open access: yesFrontiers in Neural Circuits, 2008
Laser microscopy has generally poor temporal resolution, because of the serial scanning of each pixel. This is a significant problem for imaging or optically manipulating neural circuits since neuronal activity is fast. To help surmount this limitation, we have developed a "scanless" microscope that does not contain mechanically moving parts.

Enlargements of Viewing Zone and Screen Size of Holographic Displays Using MEMS SLM Combined with Scanning Systems

open access: yesApplied Sciences, 2022
The problems of conventional holographic display techniques, which are the requirements of a sub-micron pixel pitch and ultra-high resolution for spatial light modulators (SLMs) to enlarge the viewing zone and screen size, can be addressed using ...

Fast-Response Liquid Crystal Phase Modulators with an Excellent Photostability

open access: yesCrystals, 2020
We report a new mixture, which is modified from Merck TL-216, for liquid-crystal-on-silicon spatial light modulators (SLMs). To achieve 2π phase change at λ = 633 nm with 5 V operation voltage, the measured response time is about 3 ms at 50 °C. Meanwhile,

APPLICATION OF SPATIAL LIGHT MODULATORS FOR GENERATION OF LASER BEAMS WITH A SPIRAL PHASE DISTRIBUTION [PDF]

open access: yesНаучно-технический вестник информационных технологий, механики и оптики, 2015
Subject of Research. This paper discusses numerical simulation of spiral beams. Spiral beams have been experimentally obtained with the use of liquid crystal spatial light modulators (LCD SLM).

Two-photon polymerization with optimized spatial light modulator [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of the European Optical Society-Rapid Publications, 2011
The application of diffractive optical elements can enhance the efficiency of the two-photon polymerization (TPP) process by multiplying the polymerizing beams.

Positioning Accuracy in Holographic Optical Traps

open access: yesMicromachines, 2021
Spatial light modulators (SLMs) have been widely used to achieve dynamic control of optical traps. Often, holographic optical tweezers have been presumed to provide nanometer or sub-nanometer positioning accuracy.

Entanglement of arbitrary superpositions of modes within two-dimensional orbital angular momentum state spaces [PDF]

open access: yes, 2010
We use spatial light modulators (SLMs) to measure correlations between arbitrary superpositions of orbital angular momentum (OAM) states generated by spontaneous parametric down-conversion.

Displays Based on Dynamic Phase-Only Holography

open access: yesApplied Sciences, 2018
Static holographic displays of high quality are works of art. We are creating commercial displays using dynamic phase-only spatial light modulators (SLMs). The main advantages of this approach are light efficiency and fault tolerance.
