On the Spatial Resolution Enhancement of Microwave Radiometer Data in Banach Spaces

IEEE Transactions on Geoscience and Remote Sensing, 2014
A reconstruction technique, mathematically based on a generalization of the gradient method in Banach spaces, is first proposed to enhance the spatial resolution of radiometer earth observation measurements. This approach allows reducing the over-smoothing effects and the oscillations that are often present in standard Hilbert-spaces procedures without

Spatial Resolution Enhancement via Hybrid Estimation Approaches

SAE Technical Paper Series, 2006
<div class="htmlview paragraph">Since the beamforming concept was first introduced to acoustic engineers approximately 10 years ago, the acoustic phased array has become one of the most popular techniques used to identify noise sources. Generally speaking, the spatial resolution of the phased array is proportional to the number of microphones and

Spatial Resolution Enhancement through Time Gated Measurements

1997
Near infrared optical transillumination of tissue is emerging as a new tool in clinical diagnosis. Its advantages are noninvasiveness and portability and its wealth of light-tissue interaction mechanisms yielding information on physiological functions.

Two-Dimensional TSVD to Enhance the Spatial Resolution of Radiometer Data

IEEE Transactions on Geoscience and Remote Sensing, 2014
A reconstruction technique, based on the 2-D truncated singular value decomposition, is first proposed to enhance the spatial resolution of radiometer earth observation measurements. The technique is very computer time effective when the kernel is a 2-D tensor product.

Spatially oversampled TDC with digital resolution enhancement

Analog Integrated Circuits and Signal Processing, 2011
A digital resolution enhancement technique for time-to-digital converters (TDC) is proposed. This involves a simultaneous multi-channel measurement of a time interval with low complexity TDC of varying low resolutions. The coarse outputs of each converter are digitally post-processed to obtain an output whose precision is much better than that of the ...

Deconvolution technique for spatial resolution enhancement of MWRI

2015 Asia-Pacific Microwave Conference (APMC), 2015
Deconvolution technique is used in 18.7GHz vertical polarization channel brightness temperature data of MicroWave Radiation Imager of FY-3 satellite for improving the ground spatial resolution. This paper applies the technique to the simulation images of MWRI and compares the experiment results of existing noise and not firstly.

Inverse kriging to enhance spatial resolution of imagery

SPIE Proceedings, 2002
We describe a unique approach to image resolution enhancement, inverse kriging (IK), which takes advantage of the spatial relationship between high- and low-resolution images within an area of overlap. Once established, this mathematical relationship then can be applied across the entire low-resolution image to significantly sharpen the image.

Spatial resolution of cavity-enhanced photothermal spectroscopy

SPIE Proceedings, 1990
Cavity-enhanced photothernial spectroscopy has been applied to perform ultrasensitive absorption measurements of thin fims and liquid surfaces. Absorption coefficients of less than one part in 10 have been detected. Both spectral and time-resolved photothermal measurements have been carried out and the spatial resolution of the method has been ...

Enhancement of AWiFS Spatial Resolution with SVM Learning

2016 IEEE 6th International Conference on Advanced Computing (IACC), 2016
The ability of space borne sensors is limited to acquire images having wide swath with high temporal resolution and high spatial resolutions simultaneously. Fine details of the earth's surface features can be captured using high resolution (HR) remote sensors in remote sensing (RS) data collection.
