Activation of Metal Complexes With Ultrasound Waves for Targeted Anticancer Therapy

open access: yesAngewandte Chemie International Edition, EarlyView.
Ultrasound enables non‐invasive activation of metal‐based therapeutics deep within tumors. Acoustic cavitation can drive sonodynamic reactive oxygen species generation or mechanochemical metal–ligand bond dissociation, enabling controlled release of bioactive payloads.

Data from: Determining spatio-temporal metrics that distinguish play outcomes in field hockey

open access: yes, 2017
Tactical behaviour in field sports can be examined using spatio-temporal metrics, that is, descriptions of player behaviour derived from data of player positions over time.

Coastline target detection based on UAV hyperspectral remote sensing images

open access: yesFrontiers in Marine Science
Timely and accurate monitoring of typical coastal targets using remote sensing technology is crucial for maintaining marine ecological stability. Hyperspectral target detection technology proves to be an effective tool in extracting various typical ...

The internal crest anatomy of Lambeosaurini (Hadrosauridae: Lambeosaurinae)

open access: yesThe Anatomical Record, EarlyView.
Abstract The supracranial crests of lambeosaurine hadrosaurids have long been a focus of study due primarily to their extreme morphology. The external anatomy of lambeosaurine crests is understood to be highly variable between species, but variation in their internal anatomy is less well understood.

Regional climate model assessment via spatio-temporal modeling

open access: yes, 2018
In order to adapt to a changing climate, policymakers need information about what to expect for the climate system. Typically local information about certain aspects of the climate system comes from regional climate models as well as from ...

Electron compensation‐gated nanomotor for immunomodulation and microenvironment remodeling in bacterial pneumonia therapy

open access: yesBMEMat, EarlyView.
A nanomotor featuring an “electronic lock” via electron compensation in an Au‐Ag alloy ensures therapeutic precision. Near‐infrared light acts as a key, unlocking on‐demand Ag+ release for synergistic bactericidal action and microenvironment remodeling to potently treat bacterial pneumonia. Abstract Bacterial pneumonia treatment is severely hampered by

Resolving the biome debate: ecological and palaeo‐data concur that the extensive tree‐limited grassy biomes of central and north‐western Madagascar are largely anthropogenic

open access: yesBiological Reviews, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT For millennia, human activities have transformed ecosystems globally. Determining which landscapes are predominantly anthropogenic is crucial to conservation and habitat restoration. Madagascar, a critically‐threatened biodiversity hotspot, is a prominent example.

Composite dyadic models for spatio-temporal data

open access: yesBiometrics
ABSTRACT Mechanistic statistical models are commonly used to study the flow of biological processes. For example, in landscape genetics, the aim is to infer spatial mechanisms that govern gene flow in populations. Existing statistical approaches in landscape genetics do not account for temporal dependence in the data and may be ...
