Spatiotemporal nonlinearity in resting-state fMRI of the human brain
In this work, the spatiotemporal nonlinearity in resting-state fMRI data of the human brain was detected by nonlinear dynamics methods. Nine human subjects during resting state were imaged using single-shot gradient echo planar imaging on a 1.5T scanner.

Engineered Nanotopography to Modulate Growth and Signaling of Neuronal Networks
This study examines the interaction between neurons and nanoscale topographies on engineered substrates. Neurons cultured on nanowires, nanopillars and nanoneedles exhibit enhanced neurite outgrowth, form more organized neuronal circuits, and display improved synaptic connectivity, compared to flat substrates.

Reversible Tuning of Multiple Molecular Kinking for Stem Cell Regulation In Vivo
In this work, we introduce the novel concept of background component‐free “multiple kinks” material platform composed solely of liganded multiple kink‐bearing molecules as a strategy for dynamic biomaterial design. Tri‐kink molecules enable effective near‐infrared light‐triggered ligand masking and visible light‐triggered ligand exposure, thereby ...

2D Skeletal Muscle Thin Film Actuators Enhance Efficiency of Biohybrid Robots
2D skeletal muscle thin film actuators generate millinewton‐scale forces and millimeter‐scale strokes while remaining functional for over 30 days. Their force density is 20‐fold higher than 3D skeletal muscle actuators, enabling multi‐fin robots with tunable speed and multidirectional steering.

Genetically Programmed Shape‐Morphing of Engineered Living Materials
Here, bacterial and mammalian engineered living materials (ELMs) are presented, in which living cells direct genetically programmed and enzymatically mediated shape‐morphing. The resulting deformation and shape‐recovery can be actuated in a genetically controlled manner by an ELM incorporating out‐of‐equilibrium counteracting biochemical reactions with

Evolutionary diversity and spatiotemporal dynamics of a spatial game
In this paper, the evolution of cooperation is studied by a spatially structured evolutionary game model in which the players are located on a two-dimensional square lattice. Each player can choose one of the following strategies: "always defect" (ALLD),
