Spatiotemporal evolution of runaway electrons from synchrotron images in Alcator C-Mod

open access: yes, 2018
In the Alcator C-Mod tokamak, relativistic runaway electron (RE) generation can occur during the flattop current phase of low density, diverted plasma discharges.

Spatiotemporal Satellite Image Fusion Using Deep Convolutional Neural Networks

open access: yesIEEE Journal of Selected Topics in Applied Earth Observations and Remote Sensing, 2018
We propose a novel spatiotemporal fusion method based on deep convolutional neural networks (CNNs) under the application background of massive remote sensing data. In the training stage, we build two five-layer CNNs to deal with the problems of complicated correspondence and large spatial resolution gaps between MODIS and Landsat images.

Appearance-and-Relation Networks for Video Classification

open access: yes, 2018
Spatiotemporal feature learning in videos is a fundamental problem in computer vision. This paper presents a new architecture, termed as Appearance-and-Relation Network (ARTNet), to learn video representation in an end-to-end manner.

Memory-Augmented Temporal Dynamic Learning for Action Recognition

open access: yes, 2019
Human actions captured in video sequences contain two crucial factors for action recognition, i.e., visual appearance and motion dynamics. To model these two aspects, Convolutional and Recurrent Neural Networks (CNNs and RNNs) are adopted in most ...

Disordered but rhythmic—the role of intrinsic protein disorder in eukaryotic circadian timing

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Unstructured domains known as intrinsically disordered regions (IDRs) are present in nearly every part of the eukaryotic core circadian oscillator. IDRs enable many diverse inter‐ and intramolecular interactions that support clock function. IDR conformations are highly tunable by post‐translational modifications and environmental conditions, which ...

Spectral unmixing based spatiotemporal downscaling fusion approach

open access: yesInternational Journal of Applied Earth Observations and Geoinformation, 2020
Time-series remote sensing data are important in monitoring land surface dynamics. Due to technical limitations, satellite sensors have a trade-off between temporal, spatial and spectral resolutions when acquiring remote sensing images.

A Two-Stage Spatiotemporal Fusion Method for Remote Sensing Images

open access: yesPhotogrammetric Engineering & Remote Sensing, 2019
This paper presents a two-stage spatiotemporal fusion method for obtaining dense remote sensing images with both high spatial and temporal resolution. Considering the large resolution differences between fine- and coarse-resolution images, the proposed method is implemented in two stages.
