Out-of-season spawning of largemouth bass in a controllable recirculating system

The aim of the study was to verify the effect of various hormonal agents [human chorionic gonadotropin (hCG) and salmon gonadoliberine analogue (sGnRHa)] applied at different stages of maturity of the females [out-of-season (maturation stage I) and in-season spawning (maturation stages II and IV)] on the proximate composition (PC) and fatty acid (FA ...

Off-Season Spawning of Eurasian Perch Perca Fluviatilis
Aquaculture International, 2004This study was designed to determine the effects of the selection for body weight and of two final warming durations during an out-of-season reproductive cycle on gonad recrudescence, plasma steroid levels and spawning in Eurasian perch Perca fluviatilis males and females.

Off-Season Spawning of Yellow Perch
The Progressive Fish-Culturist, 1998Abstract The thermal and light conditions for 2-year-old broodstock of yellow perch Perca flavescens were shifted by 6 months in an effort to change spawning from spring to autumn and fall. The natural photothermal conditions consisted of a chill period of 10°C and 10 h of light during January–March followed by increases in temperature to 20–22°C and ...

The spawning seasons of Caribbean reef fishes
Journal of Fish Biology, 1973Observations are recorded on the time of spawning of 83 species of Caribbean reef fishes. Details of seasonal variations in the percentage of sexually active fishes are given for 35 species. The majority of species spawn mostly when water temperatures are minimal, in February, March and April.

Advanced Spawning (Out-of the Season Spawning)
2016In this chapter the ‘advanced spawning’ (in the literature also referred to as ‘out-of season spawning’) operation of wild and pond-reared Eurasian perch was described. Practical tips (involving the most important aspects of a successful out-of-season spawning protocol) on particular phases of induction of gonadal development (among others by the ...

Off-Season Spawning of Golden Shiners
The Progressive Fish-Culturist, 1996Abstract Age-0 (7–9-month-old) and age-1 (19–21-month-old) golden shiners Notemigonus crysoleucas were taken from ponds during the winter and held in tanks at 25 ± 2°C at a photoperiod of 15.5 h of light and 8.5 h of darkness for two trials (16 November–17 December and 24 January–10 March). Eggs and fry were produced by both age-0 and age-1 fish by the
