Investigating Geomagnetic Disturbances in the Expansion Phase of Strong Substorms
Abstract This study contributes to improved space weather forecasting by investigating geomagnetic disturbances (GMDs) associated with rapid decreases in the SuperMAG Auroral Electrojet Lower (SML) index during strong substorms (SML < ${< } $ −500 nT) at high latitudes (64° ${}^{\circ}$–75° ${}^{\circ}$ MLAT).

Background: Behaviorist learning theory centers on the belief that learning results in observable behavioral shifts triggered by external stimuli. While newer theories focus on mental processes, behaviorism still holds value in structuring instructional ...

We introduce a method for solving a self consistent electronic calculation within localized atomic orbitals, that allows us to converge to the complete basis set (CBS) limit in a stable, controlled, and systematic way.

Abstract This work presents the first climatology of apex altitudes for intermediate‐scale plasma density irregularities based on long‐term observations spanning more than 13 years (01/2012–05/2025). Amplitude scintillation data from ground‐based receivers, covering apex altitudes between 605 and 2,360 km over the same magnetic meridian, were used ...

The Impact of the 2024 Mother's Day Storm on Aircraft Surveillance Across Europe
Abstract The Mother's day storm from 10–13 May 2024 is one of the most extreme space weather events recorded in recent decades and triggered a strong ionospheric response with various impacts on communication and navigation systems. In this study the impact on the aviation sector, and more specifically air traffic management, is investigated with ...

0+ states and collective bands in 228Th studied by the (p,t) reaction
The excitation spectra in the deformed nucleus 228Th have been studied by means of the (p,t)-reaction, using the Q3D spectrograph facility at the Munich Tandem accelerator. The angular distributions of tritons were measured for about 110 excitations seen

Plasmaspheric‐Origin Ions as a Major Source of Plasma Sheet Pressure During Storm Early Main Phase
Abstract The plasmasphere and plasma sheet are physically distinct but dynamically connected through global magnetospheric processes. Using a multifluid magnetohydrodynamic model including solar wind, ionospheric, and plasmaspheric H+ and O+ components, coupled with ring current and polar wind models, we simulate the 8 September 2017 storm. The modeled
