Generalized Score Comparison-Based Learning Objective for Deep Speaker Embedding

open access: yesIEEE Access
In state-of-the-art speaker verification systems, speaker embeddings are trained to be closer to the target speaker prototype, which is either obtained from the other speech samples or constructed with trainable parameters.

Effective Emotion Transplantation in an End-to-End Text-to-Speech System

open access: yesIEEE Access, 2020
In this paper, we propose an effective technique to transplant a source speaker’s emotional expression to a new target speaker’s voice within an end-to-end text-to-speech (TTS) framework.

Zero-Shot Voice Cloning Text-to-Speech for Dysphonia Disorder Speakers

open access: yesIEEE Access
Deep neural network based text-to-speech (TTS) technology has brought advances in speech synthesis approaching the quality of human speech sounds. Zero-shot voice cloning TTS is a system that accepts input in the form of text and a few seconds of a ...

On Hierarchical Composite Endpoints in Pediatric Cancer Supportive Care: Illustrative Examples From Two Multi‐Center Phase‐III Randomized Clinical Trials

open access: yesPediatric Blood &Cancer, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Pediatric supportive care clinical trials often involve multiple clinically important outcomes, complicating trial interpretation. Hierarchical composite endpoints (HCEs) provide a framework to integrate key outcomes according to clinical importance.

Tumor B‐cell infiltration in platinum‐treated advanced muscle‐invasive urothelial carcinoma

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Bladder tumors with higher pretreatment memory B‐cell infiltration were linked to longer survival after cisplatin chemotherapy, but not carboplatin. These tumors also showed more organized immune structures (tertiary lymphoid structures) and a shared pro‐inflammatory B‐cell‐rich community, suggesting that memory B cells may help identify patients most ...

Learning Deep Embedding with Acoustic and Phoneme Features for Speaker Recognition in FM Broadcasting

open access: yesIET Biometrics
Text-independent speaker verification (TI-SV) is a crucial task in speaker recognition, as it involves verifying an individual’s claimed identity from speech of arbitrary content without any human intervention.

A Supervised Learning Method for Improving the Generalization of Speaker Verification Systems by Learning Metrics from a Mean Teacher

open access: yesApplied Sciences, 2021
The majority of recent speaker verification tasks are studied under open-set evaluation scenarios considering real-world conditions. The characteristics of these tasks imply that the generalization towards unseen speakers is a critical capability.

Loss of proton‐sensing TDAG8 increases tumor progression in mouse models of colon cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Loss of the pH‐sensing receptor TDAG8 accelerates colorectal cancer progression in mice. Animals lacking TDAG8 expression had increased tumor growth, DNA damage, and recruitment of tumor‐associated immune cells, including macrophages, neutrophils, and monocytes.
