This chapter presents some of the main contributions in several topics of speaker recognition since 1978. Representative books and surveys on speaker recognition published during this period are listed. Theoretical models for automatic speaker recognition are contrasted with practical design methodology.

Distributed speaker recognition
Interspeech 2004, 2004Speech recognition systems are gaining increasing importance with the wide-spread use of mobile and portable devices and other interactive voice response systems. Because of the resource constraints on such devices and the requirements of specific applications, the need to perform speech recognition over a data network becomes inevitable.

Phonetically optimized speaker modeling for robust speaker recognition
The Journal of the Acoustical Society of America, 2009This paper proposes an efficient method to improve speaker recognition performance by dynamically controlling the ratio of phoneme class information. It utilizes the fact that each phoneme contains different amounts of speaker discriminative information that can be measured by mutual information.

Graph-embedding for speaker recognition
Interspeech 2010, 2010This chapter presents applications of graph embedding to the problem of text-independent speaker recognition. Speaker recognition is a general term encompassing multiple applications. At the core is the problem of speaker comparison—given two speech recordings (utterances), produce a score which measures speaker similarity.

Speaker Recognition: Introduction
2017In the ancient war times, officers and soldiers could recognize one friend or foe through the predetermined password(s). In real life, we human are able to get in and out of a house using keys or e-cards. While surfing the Internet, the user logins in websites or mail servers with his/her account and password.
