Testing the constancy of Spearman’s rho in multivariate time series [PDF]

open access: yesAnnals of the Institute of Statistical Mathematics, 2015
A class of tests for change-point detection designed to be particularly sensitive to changes in the cross-sectional rank correlation of multivariate time series is proposed. The derived procedures are based on several multivariate extensions of Spearman's rho.

Comparative analysis of induced sputum and bronchoalveolar lavage fluid (BALF) profile in asbestos exposed workers

open access: yesJournal of Occupational Medicine and Toxicology, 2011
Background Biological monitoring of healthy workers exposed to hazardous dusts lack validated screening tools. Induced sputum (IS) cellular profile was compared with bronchoalveolar lavage fluid (BALF) profile in asbestos exposed workers in order to ...

On Testing Significance of the Multivariate Rank Correlation Coefficient

open access: yesActa Universitatis Lodziensis. Folia Oeconomica, 2018
The Spearman’s rho is a measure of the strength of the association between two variables. There are some extensions of this coefficient for the multivariate case.

Spearman’s rho modification in digital image processing

open access: yesIOP Conference Series: Materials Science and Engineering, 2019
Abstract The article presents an alternative Spearman’s rank correlation pattern as an innovative method in detecting the edges of an image by defining characteristic points of the image. Edge detection methods can be counted as the image processing stage following the implementation of the “initial” image processing, which includes: use

Online websites for biostatistics

open access: yesJournal of the Practice of Cardiovascular Sciences, 2018
There are many websites which can be used for routine statistical calculations without going to a statistician. In this article, we refer to one such website and also show how to perform a Chi-square test.
