On uniformly rotating fluid drops trapped between two parallel plates [PDF]

open access: yes, 1993
This contribution is about the dynamics of a liquid bridge between two fixed parallel plates. We consider a mathematical model and present some results from the doctoral thesis [10] of the first author.

Photoswitchable Conductive Metal–Organic Frameworks

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
A conductive material where the conductivity can be modulated remotely by irradiation with light is presented. It is based on films of conductive metal–organic framework type Cu3(HHTP)2 with embedded photochromic molecules such as azobenzene, diarylethene, spiropyran, and hexaarylbiimidazole in the pores.

“There’s a lot of unknowns”: a thematic analysis of the experiences of young adults with cancer who died during a psychosocial intervention trial

open access: yesBMC Palliative Care
Background Young adults (YAs) with cancer of any stage face challenges and unmet needs across biopsychosocial domains. YAs who have rapidly declining health trajectories, or who enter end-of-life stage sooner-than-anticipated, merit greater understanding

Homeoidally striated density profiles: sequences of virial equilibrium configurations with constant anisotropy parameters

open access: yes, 2005
The formulation of the tensor virial equations is generalized to unrelaxed configurations, where virial equilibrium does not coincide with dynamical (or hydrostatic) equilibrium. Further investigation is devoted to special classes of homeoidally striated

Organic Electrochemical Transistor Channel Materials: Copolymerization Versus Physical Mixing of Glycolated and Alkoxylated Polymers

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
This work discusses the use of blended channel materials in OECTs. It explores how mixing glycolated and alkoxylated polymers in various ratios offers a simpler and more efficient route to tuning OECT properties. The performance of the polymer blends is compared to the corresponding copolymers, demonstrating similar OECT characteristics, swelling ...

Intramolecular Down‐ and Up‐Conversion in Dimeric Tetracene Complexes Centered via Platinum(II) and Palladium(II)

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Metal‐tetracene dimeric complexes are synthesized through the pyridyl coordination to either Pt(II) or Pd(II). Photophysical properties are systematically compared as a function of the metal using steady‐state and time‐resolved spectroscopy. The Pt(II) dimer exhibits efficient intramolecular singlet fission and subsequent intramolecular up‐conversion ...
