A Qualitative Analysis of Patient Perspectives and Preferences in Lupus Management to Guide Lupus Guidelines Development

open access: yesArthritis Care &Research, EarlyView.
Objective A patient‐centered approach for chronic disease management, including systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE), aligns treatment with patients’ values and preferences, leading to improved outcomes. This paper summarizes how patient experiences, perspectives, and priorities informed the American College of Rheumatology (ACR) 2024 Lupus Nephritis (LN)

APPLICATION OF FOLDED SURFACES IN CIVIL ENGINEERING

open access: yesJournal of Industrial Design and Engineering Graphics, 2015
The paper presents the usage of folded surfaces as parts of a building system. This type of surfaces is not often used in constructions, even though the structures get to have a very special and spectacular design.

Clinical Practice Guideline for Evaluation and Management of Peripheral Nervous System Manifestations in Sjögren's Disease

open access: yesArthritis Care &Research, EarlyView.
Objective Sjögren's disease is an autoimmune disorder that can impact multiple organ systems, including the peripheral nervous system (PNS). PNS manifestations, which can exist concurrently, include mononeuropathies, polyneuropathies, and autonomic nervous system neuropathies.

Diagnostic Use of Testing for Novel Murine Autoantibodies for Sjögren Disease in the Rheumatology Outpatient Setting

open access: yesArthritis Care &Research, EarlyView.
Objective The goal was to assess the diagnostic performance of three novel autoantibodies (NA) for Sjögren disease (SjD) by comparing NA prevalence in patients with SjD, other autoimmune rheumatic diseases (ARDs), nonspecific chronic sialadenitis (CS), and controls.

Special Functions on the Sphere with Applications to Minimal Surfaces

open access: yesAdvances in Applied Mathematics, 2002
Let \(\mathcal M\) be a minimal surface in \({\mathbb R}^3\) (i.e. its mean curvature is zero). Let \(w=x\cdot n\), where \(x\in\mathcal M\), \(n\) is the unit normal vector at \(x\), and the dot denotes the inner product (thus \(w\) is the support function, and \(x\to n\) is the Gauss mapping \({\mathcal M}\to S^2\)).

Experimental Evaluation of 100Cr6 Steel Microindented Surfaces Under Lubricated Nonconformal Point Contacts

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
The tribological behavior of 100Cr6 steel spheres textured via Vickers microindentation is evaluated under lubricated sliding by varying both dimple size and density. Fine and dense textures significantly reduce friction across all lubrication regimes, while large dimples increase it.

Low‐Cost, Large‐Scale Nanoporous Metals by Mechanical Alloying, Oxide Reduction, and Dealloying of Powders

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
Powder metal processing provides scalable advantages in nanoporous (np) metal development. Mechanical alloying is used to produce unique precursors for hybrid nanopore formation by oxide reduction and dealloying. As demonstrated in np Ag, this approach improves process efficiency while promoting smaller ligaments and larger pores, both of which are ...

Exploring Minimal Surfaces in E3: A Frenet-Like Curve (Flc) Approach and Differential Characterizations

open access: yesJournal of Mathematics
This research article presents minimal surfaces in the Euclidean 3−space according to the Frenet-like curve frame (Flc-frame). The proposed methodology involves studying the necessary and sufficient conditions for a surface Ms,t to be a minimal surface ...
