Pseudo-random operators of the circular ensembles
We demonstrate quantum algorithms to implement pseudo-random operators that closely reproduce statistical properties of random matrices from the three universal classes: unitary, symmetric, and symplectic.

Transition metal oxy/carbo‐nitrides show great promise as catalysts for sustainable processes. A Mn‐Mo mixed‐metal oxynitride attains remarkable performance for the direct synthesis of acetonitrile, an important commodity chemical, via sequential C─N and C─C coupling from syngas (C1) and ammonia (N1) feedstocks.

A Palm fossil closely related to Chamaerops humilis L. from the Lower Miocene of Sardinia [PDF]
This paper deals with the anatomical and histological study of a silicified specimen of a palm consisting of a part of the trunk surrounded by roots. The sample comes from the Lower Miocene of North West Sardinia.

Metal‐free carbon catalysts enable the sustainable synthesis of hydrogen peroxide via two‐electron oxygen reduction; however, active site complexity continues to hinder reliable interpretation. This review critiques correlation‐based approaches and highlights the importance of orthogonal experimental designs, standardized catalyst passports ...

Chirotteri carnivori in Europa?

Judgement of conceptual identity in monkeys [PDF]
Baboons (Papio anubis) were tested on categorization tasks at two different conceptual levels. The monkeys showed their ability (1) to judge as identical or different the objects belonging to two categories, on a perceptual basis, and (2) to perform a ...

Spin and Charge Control of Topological End States in Chiral Graphene Nanoribbons on a 2D Ferromagnet
Chiral graphene nanoribbons on a ferromagnetic gadolinium‐gold surface alloy display tunable spin and charge states at their termini. Atomic work function variations and exchange fields enabe transitions between singlet, doublet, and triplet configurations.

Draft genomes of “Pectobacterium peruviense” strains isolated from fresh water in France
Bacteria belonging to the genus Pectobacterium are responsible for soft rot disease on a wide range of cultivated crops. The “Pectobacterium peruviense” specie, recently proposed inside the Pectobacterium genus, gathers strains isolated from potato ...

A combinatorial basis for the free Lie algebra of the labelled rooted trees
The pre-Lie operad can be realized as a space T of labelled rooted trees. A result of F. Chapoton shows that the pre-Lie operad is a free twisted Lie algebra. That is, the S-module T is obtained as the plethysm of the S-module Lie with an S-module F.

Algebraic Bethe Ansatz for the two species ASEP with different hopping rates
An ASEP with two species of particles and different hopping rates is considered on a ring. Its integrability is proved and the Nested Algebraic Bethe Ansatz is used to derive the Bethe Equations for states with arbitrary numbers of particles of each type,
