Dynamic Reconstruction‐Engineered Heterointerfaces for Acidic Hydrogen Evolution at Ampere‐Level Current Density

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
A dynamic reconstruction strategy was utilized to construct PtCu/Cu3P heterostructures on the surface of self‐supporting Cu3P nanowires. The loose porosity in the restructured layer, together with a dynamic “dissolution‐redeposition” equilibrium during electrocatalysis, enables the electrode to maintain a low, stable overpotential for 240 h at ampere ...

From Defense Executor to Engineering Target: Harnessing Lignin for Crop Resistance

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Lignin serves as both a physical and chemical executor of broad‐spectrum plant immunity. This review systematically summarizes classical and recent advances in lignin‐mediated immunity, outlines the multifaceted regulatory modules controlling lignification under biotic stress, discusses key physiological and biochemical mechanisms behind lignin‐based ...

Microplastics‐Induced Gut Microbiota Dysbiosis Accelerates Alzheimer's‐Like Pathology and Cognitive Decline via the Gut–Brain Axis

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Microplastics (MPs) breach the gut‐brain axis by triggering taurine‐depleting microbiota dysbiosis that accelerates Alzheimer‐like pathology in 5XFAD mice. Taurine supplementation normalizes autophagy, microglial quiescence, and cognition, and plasma taurine inversely tracks cognitive decline in ADNI participants, revealing a readily translatable ...

Are there latitudinal gradients in species turnover?

open access: yesGlobal Ecology and Biogeography, 2003
ABSTRACTAim  To examine the effect on the observed relationship between spatial turnover and latitude of both the measure of beta diversity used and the method of analysis.Location  The empirical analyses presented herein are for the New World. Methods  We take the spatial distributions of the owls of the New World as an exemplar data set to investigate

Plant species persistence and turnover on small Bahamian islands

open access: yesOecologia, 2003
I conducted surveys of the plant species occupying 136 small islands in the Exuma Cays and 58 small islands near Andros, Bahamas. Most species occurred on relatively few islands, and most islands contained relatively few species. Identities of the most common species differed between the two archipelagos.
