Solution of Specific Energy and Specific Force Equations
Journal of Irrigation and Drainage Engineering, 2007Alternate depths and sequent depths are calculated by solving the specific energy and specific force equations, respectively. The specific energy and specific force equations result in fifth degree polynomial equations for trapezoidal cross sections. A methodology is developed for simultaneous determination of the alternate depths and/or sequent depths.
