Variations in downslope activity and bottom current dynamics in a land‐detached submarine channel system since the Last Glacial Maximum

open access: yesSedimentology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT The Gollum Channel System is a land‐detached large‐scale canyon‐channel system situated offshore southwest Ireland on the Northeast Atlantic margin. The system has been considered inactive with downslope gravity flows since the last glacial period, but geophysical data in some of its branches do suggest Holocene activity.

APPLICATION OF LASER SPECKLE INTERFEROMETRY TO CONTROL THE SURFACE MORPHOLOGY OF PRODUCTS MANUFACTURED USING MIM TECHNOLOGY

open access: yesИзмерение, мониторинг, управление, контроль
Background. The development of modern technologies for manufacturing metal products of complex geometric shapes, which include the method of metal injection molding (MIM), confirms the need to improve methods and means of non-destructive surface quality ...

Considerations on the choice of experimental parameters in residual stress measurements by hole-drilling and ESPI

open access: yesFracture and Structural Integrity, 2014
Residual stresses occur in many manufactured structures and components. Great number of investigations have been carried out to study this phenomenon.

The effect of loading methods and parameters on defect detection in digital shearography

open access: yesResults in Physics, 2017
Digital Shearography Speckle Pattern Interferometry (DSSPI) is a non-destructive testing technique, which has a wide range of applications in industrial field due to the merits of non-contact, fast response, full-field measurement and high sensitivity ...

Linking Stress Drop and Slip Heterogeneity to Assess Source Rupture Directivity for Earthquakes in Central Italy

open access: yesTerra Nova, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT In this study, we examine the relationship between Brune stress drop and fault slip where the stress drop is estimated using the Empirical Green's Function (EGF) method and slip distribution is derived from seismic and geodetic data inversion.

Nondestructive Testing of Residual Stress on the Welded Part of Butt-welded A36 Plates Using Electronic Speckle Pattern Interferometry

open access: yesNuclear Engineering and Technology, 2016
Most manufacturing processes, including welding, create residual stresses. Residual stresses can reduce material strength and cause fractures. For estimating the reliability and aging of a welded structure, residual stresses should be evaluated as ...

Unveiling nuclear localization signals in human arginine deiminase proteins

open access: yesProtein Science, Volume 35, Issue 4, April 2026.
Abstract Arginine iminohydrolases are a family of enzymes involved in the conversion of arginine to citrulline. There are five isoforms in humans (PADI1, 2, 3, 4, and 6). Some of them are observed experimentally in the cytoplasm and in the nucleus of the cell; for moving to the latter location, they must pass through the cell nuclear membrane by using ...
