Children and adolescents with type 1 diabetes show significantly impaired left ventricular global longitudinal strain compared with healthy controls, indicating subclinical myocardial dysfunction. Echocardiographic strain imaging detects early myocardial alterations in paediatric T1DM and may support timely cardiometabolic risk management.
