Image-Enhanced Pseudo-Thermal Ghost Imaging with Hybrid Speckle Pattern

open access: yesPhotonics, 2023
In this study, the influence of hybrid speckle patterns on the contrast-to-noise ratio (CNR) and resolution in pseudo-thermal ghost imaging (PGI) was examined based on the object dimensions in the macroscopic and microscopic regimes.

Speckle noise and dynamic range in coronagraphic images [PDF]

open access: yes, 2007
This paper is concerned with the theoretical properties of high contrast coronagraphic images in the context of exoplanet searches. We derive and analyze the statistical properties of the residual starlight in coronagraphic images, and describe the effect of a coronagraph on the speckle and photon noise.

On subcellular distribution of the zinc finger 469 protein (ZNF469) and observed discrepancy in the localization of endogenous and overexpressed ZNF469

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
ZNF469 regulates the expression of genes encoding extracellular matrix proteins. Endogenous ZNF469 is predominantly cytoplasmic, while in transfected cells, it forms aggregates reminiscent of biomolecular condensates, located mainly in the nucleus. These condensates exhibit overlapping staining with proteasomes and are also associated with the mitotic ...

Evaluation of daily residual pancreatic tumor motion for deep‐inspiration breath‐hold radiotherapy

open access: yesJournal of Applied Clinical Medical Physics, EarlyView.
Abstract Purpose Breath‐hold techniques are widely used in radiation therapy to minimize respiratory‐induced tumor or organ‐at‐risk motion. However, residual motion persists, necessitating a reliable daily evaluation method. Methods At our institution, fiducial markers serve as surrogates for target localization in pancreatic cancer treatment.

Nonsequential Speckle Reduction Method by Generating Uncorrelated Laser Subbeams With Equivalent Intensity Using a Reflective Spatial Light Modulator

open access: yesIEEE Photonics Journal, 2017
Sequential speckle reduction methods demand the usage of fast modulators due to the short integration period of human eyes. Here, a nonsequential speckle reduction method by splitting one laser beam with short coherence length into uncorrelated laser ...

Surface characterization of biodegradable nanocomposites by dynamic speckle analysis

open access: yesApplied Surface Science Advances, 2023
Starch/kefiran/ZnO nanocomposite films may exhibit different physicochemical properties depending on the distribution of ZnO nanoparticles. As a result of UV exposure, the hydrophobicity of the nanoparticles may be modified, resulting in their dispersion
