Noise-imitation learning: unpaired speckle noise reduction for optical coherence tomography
Physics in Medicine & BiologyAbstract Objective. Optical coherence tomography (OCT) is widely used in clinical practice for its non-invasive, high-resolution imaging capabilities. However, speckle noise inherent to its low coherence principle can degrade image quality and compromise diagnostic accuracy.

Noise considerations in stellar speckle interferometry*†
Journal of the Optical Society of America, 1977A general model for the signal-to-noise ratio for stellar speckle interferometry is developed, including the effects of finite sample averaging, quantum fluctuations, and additive noise. We find that in most cases the controlling parameter is the ratio of the total spatial spectrum to the signal spatial spectrum.

Mitigation of Speckle Noise in Optical Coherence Tomograms
2018Optical Coherence Tomography (OCT) is a promising high-resolution imaging technique that works based on low coherent interferometry. However, like other low coherent imaging modalities, OCT suffers from an artifact called, speckle. Speckle reduces the detectability of diagnostically relevant features in the tissue.
