Imprints of energy limitation in transverse momentum distributions of jets
Using a Tsallis nonextensive approach, we analyse distributions of transverse spectra of jets. We discuss the possible influence of energy conservation laws on these distributions. Transverse spectra of jets exhibit a power-law behavior of $1/p_T^n$ with

Phosphatidylinositol 4‐kinase as a target of pathogens—friend or foe?
This graphical summary illustrates the roles of phosphatidylinositol 4‐kinases (PI4Ks). PI4Ks regulate key cellular processes and can be hijacked by pathogens, such as viruses, bacteria and parasites, to support their intracellular replication. Their dual role as essential host enzymes and pathogen cofactors makes them promising drug targets.

The high energy X-ray probe (HEX-P): studying extreme accretion with ultraluminous X-ray sources
Introduction: Ultraluminous X-ray sources (ULXs) represent an extreme class of accreting compact objects: from the identification of some of the accretors as neutron stars to the detection of powerful winds travelling at 0.1–0.2 c, the increasing ...

Cyclonic spectra, cyclotomic spectra, and a conjecture of Kaledin [PDF]
With an explicit, algebraic indexing $(2,1)$-category, we develop an efficient homotopy theory of cyclonic objects: circle-equivariant objects relative to the family of finite subgroups.

The AMBRE Project: Stellar parameterisation of the ESO:FEROS archived spectra
The AMBRE Project is a collaboration between the European Southern Observatory (ESO) and the Observatoire de la Cote d'Azur (OCA) that has been established in order to carry out the determination of stellar atmospheric parameters for the archived spectra

The newfound relationship between extrachromosomal DNAs and excised signal circles
Extrachromosomal DNAs (ecDNAs) contribute to the progression of many human cancers. In addition, circular DNA by‐products of V(D)J recombination, excised signal circles (ESCs), have roles in cancer progression but have largely been overlooked. In this Review, we explore the roles of ecDNAs and ESCs in cancer development, and highlight why these ...

Nanodefects in YAG:Ce-Based Phosphor Microcrystals
The present paper focused on the study of spectral−kinetic characteristics of luminescence in two batches of yttrium aluminum garnet (YAG):Ce-based phosphors synthesized in different years by two manufacturers: NPO “Platan” in Russia ...

Nuclear Motion Is Classical: Spectrum of a Magic Protonated Water Cluster
The assumption that nuclear motion is classical explains many phenomena. The problems of Schrödinger’s cat and the EPR paradoxon do not exist in a perfectly deterministic theory.

Sequence determinants of RNA G‐quadruplex unfolding by Arg‐rich regions
We show that Arg‐rich peptides selectively unfold RNA G‐quadruplexes, but not RNA stem‐loops or DNA/RNA duplexes. This length‐dependent activity is inhibited by acidic residues and is conserved among SR and SR‐related proteins (SRSF1, SRSF3, SRSF9, U1‐70K, and U2AF1).
