Spectral Angle Mapper (SAM) for anisotropy class indexing in imaging spectrometry data [PDF]

open access: yesSPIE Proceedings, 2009
An empirical (target-) BRDF normalization method has been implemented for Imaging Spectrometry data processing, following the approach of Kennedy, published in 1997. It is a simple, empirical method with the purpose of a rapid technique, based on a least-squares quadratic curve fitting process.

Constraining dark photons and their connection to 21 cm cosmology with CMB data

open access: yesPhysics Letters B, 2020
In the inhomogeneous Universe, the cosmological conversion of dark photons into ordinary photons (and vice versa) may happen at a great number of resonance redshifts. This alters the CMB observed energy spectrum and degree of small-scale anisotropies. We

Direction‐Sensitive Magnetophotonic Surface Crystals

open access: yesAdvanced Photonics Research, 2021
Nanometer‐thin rare‐earth–transition‐metal (RE–TM) alloys with precisely controlled compositions and out‐of‐plane magnetic anisotropy are currently in the focus for ultrafast magnetophotonic applications.

Temperature dependence of the superconducting gap anisotropy in Bi$_{2}$Sr$_{2}$Ca$_{1}$Cu$_{2}$O$_{8+x}$

open access: yes, 1994
We present the first detailed data of the momentum-resolved, temperature dependence of the superconducting gap of $Bi_{2}Sr_{2}Ca_{1}Cu_{2}O_{8+x}$, complemented by similar data on the intensity of the photoemission superconducting condensate spectral ...

NanoMOF‐Based Multilevel Anti‐Counterfeiting by a Combination of Visible and Invisible Photoluminescence and Conductivity

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
This study presents novel anti‐counterfeiting tags with multilevel security features that utilize additional disguise features. They combine luminescent nanosized Ln‐MOFs with conductive polymers to multifunctional mixed‐matrix membranes and powder composites. The materials exhibit visible/NIR emission and matrix‐based conductivity even as black bodies.

Effects of Atmospheric, Topographic, and BRDF Correction on Imaging Spectroscopy-Derived Data Products

open access: yesIEEE Journal of Selected Topics in Applied Earth Observations and Remote Sensing
Surface reflectance is an important data product in imaging spectroscopy for obtaining surface information. The complex retrieval of surface reflectance, however, critically relies on accurate knowledge of atmospheric absorption and scattering, and the ...

Estimation of the effective elastic thickness of the lithosphere: progress and prospects

open access: yes地球与行星物理论评, 2022
The lithospheric strength is a key factor in controlling the lithosphere dynamics and deformations. The effective elastic thickness (Te) of the lithosphere can always be used to address the lithospheric strength. Hence, it is a powerful tool for studying

Finite-temperature dynamic structure factor of the spin-1 XXZ chain with single-ion anisotropy

open access: yes, 2018
Improving matrix-product state techniques based on the purification of the density matrix, we are able to accurately calculate the finite-temperature dynamic response of the infinite spin-1 XXZ chain with single-ion anisotropy in the Haldane, large-$D ...

Optical Anisotropy of Polyethylene Terephthalate Films Characterized by Spectral Means

open access: yesPolymers
Polyethylene terephthalate (PET) films are the subject of intensive research because of great interest in using them in applications, especially in medicine. From an optical point of view, PET films with a low degree of stretching can be considered uniaxial materials, for which the determination of the linear birefringence and its dispersion is very ...
