Laser‐Induced Graphene from Waste Almond Shells

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Almond shells, an abundant agricultural by‐product, are repurposed to create a fully bioderived almond shell/chitosan composite (ASC) degradable in soil. ASC is converted into laser‐induced graphene (LIG) by laser scribing and proposed as a substrate for transient electronics.

Dominant Scattering Mechanism Identification From Quad-Pol-SAR Data Analysis

open access: yesIEEE Journal of Selected Topics in Applied Earth Observations and Remote Sensing
Polarimetric decompositions are used to separate scatterers and identify their physical parameters by analyzing backscattering, coherence, or covariance matrices.

Spectral Complexity of Directed Graphs and Application to Structural Decomposition

open access: yesComplexity, 2019
We introduce a new measure of complexity (called spectral complexity) for directed graphs. We start with splitting of the directed graph into its recurrent and nonrecurrent parts.

Biomass Native Structure Into Functional Carbon‐Based Catalysts for Fenton‐Like Reactions

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
This study indicates that eight biomasses with 2D flaky and 1D acicular structures influence surface O types, morphology, defects, N doping, sp2 C, and Co nanoparticles loading in three series of carbon, N‐doped carbon, and cobalt/graphitic carbon. This work identifies how these structural factors impact catalytic pathways, enhancing selective electron

On Gaussian interpolation inequalities

open access: yesComptes Rendus. Mathématique
This paper is devoted to Gaussian interpolation inequalities with endpoint cases corresponding to the Gaussian Poincaré and the logarithmic Sobolev inequalities, seen as limits in large dimensions of Gagliardo–Nirenberg–Sobolev inequalities on spheres ...

Slight Truncation Changes in Iron Oxide Nanocubes Strongly Affect Their Magnetic Properties

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Subtle variations in nanoparticle morphology can lead to significant changes in functional properties. An automated shape‐fitting method captures minor differences in corner truncation between iron oxide nanocubes of similar sizes synthesized under identical conditions, revealing pronounced disparities in their magnetic and hyperthermia behavior ...

THE SPECTRAL DECOMPOSITION OF THE OPTION VALUE [PDF]

open access: yesInternational Journal of Theoretical and Applied Finance, 2004
This paper develops a spectral expansion approach to the valuation of contingent claims when the underlying state variable follows a one-dimensional diffusion with the infinitesimal variance a2(x), drift b(x) and instantaneous discount (killing) rate r(x).

Exploring Curvature Effects in Direct‐Written 3D Curved Hollow Magnetic Nanoshells

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Fabricated by a hybrid FEBID/CVD method, 3D PtC/Co3Fe core–shell heterostructures with engineered curvature and shell thickness exhibit complex reversal modes with axially symmetric N'eel‐type domain walls. XMCD‐PEEM combined with full‐scale micromagnetic simulations reveal how curvature and thickness govern the domain wall energy landscape and shape ...
