A Statistical and Spectral Model for Representing Noisy Sounds with Short-Time Sinusoids

open access: yesEURASIP Journal on Advances in Signal Processing, 2005
We propose an original model for noise analysis, transformation, and synthesis: the CNSS model. Noisy sounds are represented with short-time sinusoids whose frequencies and phases are random variables.

Multivariate Spectral Estimation based on the concept of Optimal Prediction

open access: yes, 2014
In this technical note, we deal with a spectrum approximation problem arising in THREE-like multivariate spectral estimation approaches. The solution to the problem minimizes a suitable divergence index with respect to an a priori spectral density.

COMP–PMEPA1 axis promotes epithelial‐to‐mesenchymal transition in breast cancer cells

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
This study reveals that cartilage oligomeric matrix protein (COMP) promotes epithelial‐to‐mesenchymal transition (EMT) in breast cancer. We identify PMEPA1 (protein TMEPAI) as a novel COMP‐binding partner that mediates EMT via binding to the TSP domains of COMP, establishing the COMP–PMEPA1 axis as a key EMT driver in breast cancer.

Effect of longitudinal-angular oscillations of the harvester-thresher separator on smooth motion of the reaper

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Research, 2017
Introduction. The effect of the low-frequency oscillations of the reaper on crop losses of the domestic combine harvesters is considered. In the study, various speeds of the machine, various mass-geometric and elastic-dissipative characteristics of the ...

Native ultrametricity of sparse random ensembles

open access: yes, 2015
We investigate the eigenvalue density in ensembles of large sparse Bernoulli random matrices. We demonstrate that the fraction of linear subgraphs just below the percolation threshold is about 95\% of all finite subgraphs, and the distribution of linear ...

Engineered extracellular vesicles enriched with the miR‐214/199a cluster enhance the efficacy of chemotherapy in ovarian cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Loss of the miR‐214/199a cluster is associated with recurrence in ovarian cancer. Engineered small extracellular vesicles (m214‐sEVs) elevate miR‐214‐3p/miR‐199a‐5p in tumor cells, suppress β‐catenin, TLR4, and YKT6 signaling, reprogram tumor‐derived sEV cargo, reduce chemoresistance and migration, and enhance carboplatin efficacy and survival in ...

Photo-emission rate of sQGP at finite density

open access: yes, 2010
We calculate the thermal spectral function of SYM plasma with finite density using holographic technique. We take the RN-AdS black hole as the dual gravity theory.

IMPDH inhibition enhances cytarabine efficacy in SAMHD1‐expressing leukaemia cells via guanine nucleotide depletion

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Cytarabine is a key therapy for acute myeloid leukaemia (AML), but its efficacy is limited by the dNTPase SAMHD1, which hydrolyses its active metabolite. Screening nucleotide biosynthesis inhibitors revealed that IMPDH inhibitors selectively sensitise SAMHD1‐proficient AML cells to cytarabine.

μ Robust Stable Extrapolation of a Stationary Random Process with Interval Limited Variance

open access: yesRUDN Journal of Engineering Research
A method for synthesizing μ robust stable linear minimax extrapolator of a stationary random process under conditions of interval uncertainty of the parameters of the measured signal is presented.
