Uplink Spectral Efficiency of Cell-free Massive MIMO with Multi-Antenna Users
2019 3rd International Conference on Recent Advances in Signal Processing, Telecommunications & Computing (SigTelCom), 2019We consider a cell-free massive MIMO system with multi-antennas at both access points (APs) and users. Then, the uplink spectral efficiency (SE) of this system with data power control at users and zero-forcing (ZF) combining at the APs is exploited.

Spectral Efficiency Maximization for Uplink Cell-Free Massive MIMO-NOMA Networks
2019 IEEE International Conference on Communications Workshops (ICC Workshops), 2019In this paper, it investigates the uplink performance of cell-free massive multiple-input multiple-output with non-orthogonal multiple access (CF-mMIMO-NOMA) technique and derives a rigorous closed-form approximation of the spectral efficiency expression

Efficient evolutionary spectral clustering
Pattern Recognition Letters, 2016An evolutionary spectral clustering method using a smoothed Laplacian is presented. The incomplete Cholesky decomposition (ICD) reduces runtime from O(N3) to O(N).The memory requirements are decreased from O(N2) to O(N).A stopping criterion using the convergence of cluster assignments is adopted. An efficient procedure to select the number of clusters is

High-Spectral-Efficiency Mode-Multiplexed Transmission Over Graded-Index Multimode Fiber
European Conference on Optical Communication, 2018We demonstrate mode-multiplexed $90\times 90$ MIMO transmission over all nine mode groups of a 26.5-km graded-index multimode fiber span, achieving a record spectral efficiency of 202 bit/s/Hz.

Efficient Bias Corrected Nonparametric Spectral Estimation
Biometrika, 1991Summary: We consider estimation of a spectral density at a particular frequency. A linear model is developed based on the local second order behaviour of kernel spectral estimates and a second stage estimate is derived from this model. The estimate is shown to be asymptotically more efficient than the kernel estimate with the optimal, but unknown ...

Spectral Efficiency of Cognitive Radio Systems
IEEE GLOBECOM 2007-2007 IEEE Global Telecommunications Conference, 2007In this contribution, we investigate the idea of using cognitive radio to reuse locally unused spectrum to increase the total system capacity. We consider a multiband/wideband system in which the primary and cognitive users wish to communicate to different receivers, subject to mutual interference and assume that each user knows only his channel and ...

Energy-Efficient and Spectrally-Efficient MIMO
2021While enabling energy efficiency and spectral efficiency, MIMO systems tends to be associated to an exponential increase of complexity and of signal processing, with the increase of the number of transmit and receive antennas. As described in this article, a reduction of complexity can be obtained with the use of the two proposed algorithms: Maximum ...

High-spectral-efficiency transmission systems
Optical Fiber Communication Conference. Technical Digest Postconference Edition. Trends in Optics and Photonics Vol.37 (IEEE Cat. No. 00CH37079), 2002Spectrally-efficient transmission techniques provide the capability for higher channel density in WDM systems and, in some cases, allow the extension of the transmission distance limited by physical fiber impairments, such as chromatic dispersion and polarization mode dispersion.
