Estimation of Leaf Area Index and Above-Ground Biomass of Winter Wheat Based on Optimal Spectral Index

open access: yesAgronomy, 2022
Leaf area index (LAI) and above-ground biomass are both vital indicators for evaluating crop growth and development, while rapid and non-destructive estimation of crop LAI and above-ground biomass is of considerable significance for crop field management.

How Weather Affects over Time the Repeatability of Spectral Indices Used for Geological Remote Sensing

open access: yesRemote Sensing, 2022
Geologic remote sensing studies often targets surface cover that is supposed to be invariant or only changing on a geological timescale. In terms of surface material characteristics, this holds for rocks and minerals, but only to a lesser degree for ...

Spectral Slater index of tournaments

open access: yesThe Electronic Journal of Linear Algebra, 2022
The Slater index $i(T)$ of a tournament $T$ is the minimum number of arcs that must be reversed to make $T$ transitive. In this paper, we define a parameter $\Lambda(T)$ from the spectrum of the skew-adjacency matrix of $T$, called the spectral Slater index.

Estimation of Cotton Nitrogen Content Based on Multi-Angle Hyperspectral Data and Machine Learning Models

open access: yesRemote Sensing, 2023
For crop growth monitoring and agricultural management, it is important to use hyperspectral remote sensing techniques to estimate canopy nitrogen content in a timely and accurate manner.

Satellite Multi-Sensor Data Fusion for Soil Clay Mapping Based on the Spectral Index and Spectral Bands Approaches

open access: yesRemote Sensing, 2022
Integrating satellite data at different resolutions (i.e., spatial, spectral, and temporal) can be a helpful technique for acquiring soil information from a synoptic point of view.

Integrating geographical information systems, remote sensing, and machine learning techniques to monitor urban expansion: an application to Luanda, Angola

open access: yesGeo-spatial Information Science, 2023
According to many previous studies, application of remote sensing for the complex and heterogeneous urban environments in Sub-Saharan African countries is challenging due to the spectral confusion among features caused by diversity of construction ...

Spectral index in curvaton scenario [PDF]

open access: yesPhysical Review D, 2008
A red tilted primordial power spectrum is preferred by WMAP five-year data and a large positive local-type non-Gaussianity $f_{NL}$ might be observed as well. In this short note we find that a red tilted and large non-Gaussian primordial power spectrum cannot be naturally obtained in curvaton model, because $f_{NL}$ is related to the initial condition ...

Spectral Code Index (SPECOIND): A General Infrared Spectral Database Search Method [PDF]

open access: yesApplied Spectroscopy, 2003
A new spectral code that can be used by Relational Database Management Systems (RDBMS) as an index for infrared (IR) spectra searches in Relational Database (RDB) is presented and its suitability is evaluated. Spectral codes are constructed for all spectra in the database as the spectral indexes and three query strings are created with the same theory

Spectrally Layered Color Indexing [PDF]

open access: yes, 2002
Image patches of different roughness are likely to have different perceptual significance. In this paper, we introduce a method, which separates an image into layers, each of which retains only pixels in areas with similar spectral distribution characteristics. Simple color indexing is used to index the layers individually.

SPECTRAL FLOW, INDEX AND THE SIGNATURE OPERATOR [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of Topology and Analysis, 2011
We relate the spectral flow to the index for paths of selfadjoint Breuer–Fredholm operators affiliated to a semifinite von Neumann algebra, generalizing results of Robbin–Salamon and Pushnitski. Then we prove the vanishing of the von Neumann spectral flow for the tangential signature operator of a foliated manifold when the metric is varied.
