Constraints on the spectral index of polarized synchrotron emission from WMAP and Faraday-corrected S-PASS data [PDF]
We constrain the spectral index of polarized synchrotron emission, βs, by correlating the recently released 2.3 GHz S-Band Polarization All Sky Survey (S-PASS) data with the 23 GHz 9-year Wilkinson Microwave Anisotropy Probe (WMAP) sky maps. We subdivide

Revealing dust segregation in protoplanetary discs with the help of multifrequency spectral index maps [PDF]
Dust is known to drift and grow in protoplanetary discs, which results in dust segregation over the disc extent. Maps of the spectral index $\alpha$ are a common tool for studying the dust content in protoplanetary discs.

Spectral index in curvaton scenario [PDF]
A red tilted primordial power spectrum is preferred by WMAP five-year data and a large positive local-type non-Gaussianity $f_{NL}$ might be observed as well. In this short note we find that a red tilted and large non-Gaussian primordial power spectrum cannot be naturally obtained in curvaton model, because $f_{NL}$ is related to the initial condition ...

The spectral index of polarized diffuse Galactic emission between 30 and 44 GHz [PDF]
We present an estimate of the polarized spectral index between the Planck 30 and 44 GHz surveys in 3.7° pixels. We use an objective reference prior that maximizes the impact of the data on the posterior and multiply this by a maximum entropy prior that

Water Benefit-Based Ecological Index for Urban Ecological Environment Quality Assessments
Urbanization and climate change cause the urban ecological environment to become increasingly dependent on water. However, open water areas and green spaces in cities are constantly decreasing, making water resources increasingly scarce.

Spectral Code Index (SPECOIND): A General Infrared Spectral Database Search Method [PDF]
A new spectral code that can be used by Relational Database Management Systems (RDBMS) as an index for infrared (IR) spectra searches in Relational Database (RDB) is presented and its suitability is evaluated. Spectral codes are constructed for all spectra in the database as the spectral indexes and three query strings are created with the same theory

Spectrally Layered Color Indexing [PDF]
Image patches of different roughness are likely to have different perceptual significance. In this paper, we introduce a method, which separates an image into layers, each of which retains only pixels in areas with similar spectral distribution characteristics. Simple color indexing is used to index the layers individually.

SPECTRAL FLOW, INDEX AND THE SIGNATURE OPERATOR [PDF]
We relate the spectral flow to the index for paths of selfadjoint Breuer–Fredholm operators affiliated to a semifinite von Neumann algebra, generalizing results of Robbin–Salamon and Pushnitski. Then we prove the vanishing of the von Neumann spectral flow for the tangential signature operator of a foliated manifold when the metric is varied.

The survival rate of seedlings is a decisive factor of afforestation assessment. Generally, ground checking is more accurate than any other methods. However, the survival rate of seedlings can be higher in the growing season, and this can be estimated in
