Nonmonotone Spectral Analysis for Variational Inclusions [PDF]

open access: yes
Gradient descent algorithms perform well in convex optimization but can get tied for finding local minima in non-convex optimization. A robust method that combines a spectral approach with nonmonotone line search strategy for solving variational inclusion problems is proposed.

Hydrophobicity causes anomalous migration of cystine/glutamate antiporter SLC7A11 in SDS‐PAGE with low acrylamide concentration

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
SLC7A11 frequently migrates faster in SDS‐PAGE. The present study found that the high hydrophobicity of SLC7A11 causes its anomalous migration in SDS‐PAGE with a low concentration of acrylamide gel. Replacing isoleucine with asparagine reduced hydrophobicity and restored its normal migration at 55 kDa, revealing the role of hydrophobicity and gel ...

Spectral classification of emission-line galaxies [PDF]

open access: yes
A revised method of classification of narrow line active galaxies and H II region-like galaxies is proposed. It involves the line ratios (O III) lambda 5007/H beta, (N II) lambda 6583/H alpha, (S II) (lambda lambda 6716 = 6731)/H alpha, and (O I) lambda ...

Red shift of spectral lines of hydrogen atoms caused by its electrical polarization [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv, 2017
A system of Lorentz oscillators is considered to interpret of spectral lines of hydrogen atoms. The dielectric permittivity of this system, which takes into account its electric polarization, is considered. The substance is examined in the gas state or in the form of small dust of matter.
