Enhancing beam structural damage detection using spectral moment values and spectral moment cumulative function models

open access: yesJournal of Low Frequency Noise, Vibration and Active Control
Evaluation and identification of structural damage play a crucial role in ensuring the safety and reliability of structures. This study explores the application of spectral moment value analysis as a robust tool to assess and detect structural damage ...

Tumour–host interactions in Drosophila: mechanisms in the tumour micro‐ and macroenvironment

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
This review examines how tumour–host crosstalk takes place at multiple levels of biological organisation, from local cell competition and immune crosstalk to organism‐wide metabolic and physiological collapse. Here, we integrate findings from Drosophila melanogaster studies that reveal conserved mechanisms through which tumours hijack host systems to ...

Identification of serum protein biomarkers for pre‐cancerous lesions associated with pancreatic ductal adenocarcinoma

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
This work identified serum proteins associated with pancreatic epithelial neoplasms (PanINs) and early‐stage PDAC. Proteomics screens assessed genetically engineered mice with abundant PanINs, KPC mice (Lox‐STOP‐Lox‐KrasG12D/+ Lox‐STOP‐Lox‐Trp53R172H/+ Pdx1‐Cre) before PDAC development and also early‐stage PDAC patients (n = 31), compared to benign ...

Detecting Confounding in Multivariate Linear Models via Spectral Analysis

open access: yesJournal of Causal Inference, 2018
We study a model where one target variable Y$Y$ is correlated with a vector X:=(X1,…,Xd)$\textbf{X}:=(X_1,\dots,X_d)$ of predictor variables being potential causes of Y$Y$.

COMP–PMEPA1 axis promotes epithelial‐to‐mesenchymal transition in breast cancer cells

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
This study reveals that cartilage oligomeric matrix protein (COMP) promotes epithelial‐to‐mesenchymal transition (EMT) in breast cancer. We identify PMEPA1 (protein TMEPAI) as a novel COMP‐binding partner that mediates EMT via binding to the TSP domains of COMP, establishing the COMP–PMEPA1 axis as a key EMT driver in breast cancer.

Spectral calibration of exponential Lévy Models [2] [PDF]

open access: yes
The calibration of financial models has become rather important topic in recent years mainly because of the need to price increasingly complex options in a consistent way.

Engineered extracellular vesicles enriched with the miR‐214/199a cluster enhance the efficacy of chemotherapy in ovarian cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Loss of the miR‐214/199a cluster is associated with recurrence in ovarian cancer. Engineered small extracellular vesicles (m214‐sEVs) elevate miR‐214‐3p/miR‐199a‐5p in tumor cells, suppress β‐catenin, TLR4, and YKT6 signaling, reprogram tumor‐derived sEV cargo, reduce chemoresistance and migration, and enhance carboplatin efficacy and survival in ...

Spectrally regularised LVMs: A spectral regularisation framework for latent variable models designed for single-channel applications

open access: yesSoftwareX
Latent variable models (LVMs) are commonly used to capture the underlying dependencies, patterns, and hidden structures in observed data. Source duplication is a by-product of the data Hankelisation pre-processing step common to single-channel LVM ...

IMPDH inhibition enhances cytarabine efficacy in SAMHD1‐expressing leukaemia cells via guanine nucleotide depletion

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Cytarabine is a key therapy for acute myeloid leukaemia (AML), but its efficacy is limited by the dNTPase SAMHD1, which hydrolyses its active metabolite. Screening nucleotide biosynthesis inhibitors revealed that IMPDH inhibitors selectively sensitise SAMHD1‐proficient AML cells to cytarabine.

Complex Spectral Signal Processing Model Based on Hypernetwork Architecture and Super-Resolution Reconstruction

open access: yesModelling and Simulation in Engineering
In response to the problem that traditional spectral signal processing models are affected by noise and difficult to fully capture spectral information, resulting in insufficient spectral reconstruction accuracy, an innovative spectral signal processing ...
