Doping dependent optical properties of Bi2201

open access: yes, 2009
An experimental study of the in-plane optical conductivity of (Pb$_{x}$,Bi$_{2-x}$)(La$_{y}$Sr$_{2-y}$)CuO$_{6+\delta}$ (Bi2201) is presented for a broad doping and temperature range.

Theory of thermal conductivity in extended-$s$ state superconductors: application to ferropnictides [PDF]

open access: yes, 2009
Within a two-band model for the recently discovered ferropnictide materials, we calculate the thermal conductivity assuming general superconducting states of $A_{1g}$ ("s-wave") symmetry, considering both currently popular isotropic "sign-changing" $s ...

Pathomics Signature for Prognosis and CA19‐9 Interception in Pancreatic Ductal Adenocarcinoma: A Real‐Life, Multi‐Center Study

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
This study develops a deep learning‐based pathomics model to predict survival outcomes in pancreatic cancer patients. The CrossFormer architecture analyzes routine H&E‐stained tissue slides, identifying key prognostic features including stromal patterns, cellular characteristics, and immune infiltration.

TOGR3, a Proteasome β4 Subunit, Orchestrates Sugar Homeostasis to Trade Off Growth and Thermotolerance in Rice

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
This study identifies a novel thermoregulatory mechanism in rice: TOGR3 partners with 26S proteasome subunits, including TT1, to drive thermoresponsive ubiquitin–proteasome activity, maintaining sugar homeostasis in stomatal regulation to balance growth and stress resistance.

Exploring a Lower‐Resolution Physics Grid in CAM‐SE‐CSLAM

open access: yesJournal of Advances in Modeling Earth Systems, 2019
This paper describes the implementation of a coarser‐resolution physics grid into the Community Atmosphere Model (CAM), containing 59 fewer grid columns than the dynamics grid.

Building an EEG-fMRI multi-modal brain graph: a concurrent EEG-fMRI study

open access: yesFrontiers in Human Neuroscience, 2016
The topological architecture of brain connectivity has been well characterized by graph theory based analysis. However, previous studies have primarily built brain graphs based on a single modality of brain imaging data.

Distribution of spectral weight in a system with disordered stripes

open access: yes, 2001
The ``band-structure'' of a disordered stripe array is computed and compared, at a qualitative level, to angle resolved photoemission experiments on the cuprate high temperature superconductors.

A Wireless, Battery‐Free Artificial Throat Patch with Deep Learning for Emotional Speech Recognition

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
In this work, Xu and co‐workers develop a wireless, battery‐free artificial throat patch system (ATPS) consisting of a carbon nanotube‐based thin‐film strain sensor and a miniaturized flexible printed circuit board, to enable real‐time sensing of throat signals.

Spectroscopic Evidence for Multiple Order Parameter Components in the Heavy Fermion Superconductor CeCoIn_5

open access: yes, 2005
Point-contact spectroscopy was performed on single crystals of the heavy-fermion superconductor CeCoIn_5 between 150 mK and 2.5 K. A pulsed measurement technique ensured minimal Joule heating over a wide voltage range. The spectra show Andreev-reflection

Natural Variations of ZmRLR1 Mediate the Root Lodging Resistance of Maize by Regulating Root Ascorbate and Auxin Homeostasis

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Root lodging severely limits crop yield and quality. We reveal that ZmRLR1, a plasma membrane b‐type cytochrome, regulates lodging resistance in maize through dual roles: modulating intracellular redox balance and functioning as a novel component of clathrin‐mediated endocytosis to influence auxin homeostasis. Moreover, natural variations in the ZmRLR1
