Climate Change Attribution of Extreme Weather Events using Spectrally Nudged Event Storylines
Heatwaves, droughts, floods, storms and other types of extreme weather events cause significant human suffering as well as material and economic damages. Discerning how climate change is influencing different extremes is a prerequisite to understand what we may expect in the future and how we can reduce loss of life and damage.

Unlocking a Nitrosuccinate Lyase for Decarboxylative Enzymatic Hydronitration
The nitrosuccinate lyase CreD catalyzes C–NO2 bond formation using nitrite in water and shows synthetic practicality with high turnover numbers up to 102,000. A combination of protein engineering and computational methods helped to reveal the mechanistic principles that underpin this unique enzymatic activity.

A hexagonal tunnel‐structured MoO3 is nanoparticulated via hydrothermal synthesis followed by ball‐milling. As a positive electrode in Ca and Mg batteries, it delivers superior capacity and structural reversibility, enabling divalent cation intercalation with minimal lattice distortion and no phase transitions.

This work demonstrates a new strategy for reversible protonic ceramic cells (R‐PCCs). By developing highly hydrophilic oxides, efficient operation is achieved under low water vapor pressures while maintaining high performance and stability. This approach addresses the challenge of hydrogen production in freshwater‐scarce regions.
