Uncertainties in gamma-ray spectrometry

Metrologia, 2015
High resolution gamma-ray spectrometry is a well-established metrological technique that can be applied to a large number of photon-emitting radionuclides, activity levels and sample shapes and compositions. Three kinds of quantitative information can be derived using this technique: detection efficiency calibration, radionuclide activity and photon ...

Geological applications of gamma-spectrometry

International Geology Review, 1965
A rapid indirect method for determining the radioelement content of rocks is furnished by the method of gamma spectrometry By measuring the energies of X-rays the concentrations of radium, thorium, and potassium can be estimated. This paper presents the theory of this method, its limitations factors affecting accuracy, and illustrates applications of ...

Low Energy Gamma Scintillation Spectrometry

IRE Transactions on Nuclear Science, 1956
Techniques are reviewed which are used to: obtain good resolution with Scintillation Spectrometers; minimize pulses which fall outside of photo peaks; measure absolute gamma efficiencies of NaI crystals as a function of energy; and measure K/L capture ratios and gamma conversion coefficients.

Superpositions d'impulsions en spectrometrie gamma

Nuclear Instruments and Methods, 1965
Abstract A general method is proposed for the computation of the number of pulses' superpositions and their height distribution in gamma ray spectroscopy, from the experimental energy spectrum and the pulse shape. A method is also given for the correction of the superpositions occuring above the photoelectric peak, using two experimentally ...

Fundamentals of Gravitational Gamma Spectrometry

2014
The principle of work and design are described of a new type of the instrument—the gravitational gamma spectrometer. This setup permitted to measure the shape of the gamma resonance of 109mAg isomer with resolving power exceeding by 108 times the resolution of the usual Mossbauer spectrometer working with 57Fe.
