Delivery Routes and Anesthesia Affect Cord Blood NGF, BDNF, and Neonatal Outcomes

Nerve growth factor (NGF) and brain‐derived neurotrophin (BDNF) play a role in brain maturation. Cord blood values do not differ between vaginal delivery and CS cases. In CS cases with spinal anesthesia, high BDNF and NGF values were associated with high cord blood pH and APGAR scores.

Pseudohyperphosphatemia (PHP) is a clinically significant laboratory artifact in patients with multiple myeloma (MM). It is often caused by paraprotein interference with phosphate assays. This systematic review summarizes reported cases, underlying mechanisms, and diagnostic approaches to distinguish spurious from true hyperphosphatemia.

Development and Analytical Validation of a Laboratory‐Customized TaqMan‐MGB Probe Method for CYP2C19 Genotyping

A laboratory‐customized, open‐sequence TaqMan‐MGB probe assay was developed for detecting CYP2C19*2 and CYP2C19*17 polymorphisms using dried blood spot‐derived DNA. Hydrazine is determined spectrophotometrically by forming the derivative 2,4-dinitrophenylhydrazine from 2,4-dinitrochlorobenzene. The formed dinitro derivative undergoes condensation reaction to form the hydrazone with p-dimethylaminobenzaldehyde (p-DAB).

Spectrophotometric Determination of Anthramycin

A quantitative UV spectrophotometric method for the determination of a new antitumor antibiotic, anthramycin, is described. The method is shown to be applicable for the determination of anthramycin in fermentation beers of Streptomyces refuineus var. thermotolerans (NRRL 3143) and in various preparations containing this antibiotic.

Spectrophotometric determination of clofibrate

A sensitive method for the rapid and accurate determination of clofibrate by hydroxamic acid formation is described. Hydroxylamine hydrochloride is reacted with clofibrate in alkaline medium to give 4-chlorophenoxyisobutyrohydroxamic acid, which forms a purple complex with iron(III) in acidic medium.
