Spectrophotometry with Gaia [PDF]

open access: possible, 2010
Gaia is an all-sky survey satellite, to be launched by ESA in late 2011, to obtain parallaxes and proper motions to microarcsecond precision, radial velocities and astrophysical parameters for about 109 objects down to a limiting magnitude of 20mag, which means about 104 times more stars than observed with Hipparcos mission.

Spectrophotometry of Jupiter

Icarus, 1976
Spectrophotometric maps of Jupiter were made between 24 and 27 (UT) November 1974 on the McMath Solar Telescope at Kitt Peak National Observatory. We report a comparison between observed scaled reflectivities of the Jovian North Tropical Zone and the North Equatorial Belt at System II longitudes between 195 and 205 degrees.

Differential spectrophotometry

Talanta, 1966
The principles of various methods of differential spectrophotometry are briefly discussed. Practical problems connected with the measurements are presented and analytical applications so far available are reviewed.

Spectrophotometry of the Aurora

Canadian Journal of Physics, 1972
Systematic spectrophotometric measurements of the auroral spectrum in the (S-1) region and of the O I (5577) line involving digital recording and computer averaging techniques, and coupled with reliable background-airglow subtraction, have led to brightness determinations of the O I (8446) line and O2 At (0–1), N2 1PG, and [Formula: see text] M bands ...

LED-based spectrophotometry

CLEO Pacific Rim Conference, 2018
We demonstrate that accurate spectrophotometric measurements can be achieved using low-cost LED-based devices, using a geometrical-optics approach and real-time image processing.

Atomic Absorption Spectrophotometry

Medicine, Science and the Law, 1973
Historically flame emission spectroscopy was developed first. Routine analysis showed the advantage of measuring absorption over emission for many metals. Instrumentation requirements are:— 1. Pressure regulators and flowmeters with the sources of gases; 2. Atomizer; 3. Burner; 4. Optical system; 5. Detector. In addition, an energy source, e.g.,

Spectrophotometry and Fluorometry

1981
Before going into detail, it may be advisable to provide an overview of the principles that underlie the techniques to be discussed in this chapter. The most important physical principles involve the relationships between the wave and particle properties of both light and matter and the interaction of light with matter.

Notes on Spectrophotometry

Mathematical Proceedings of the Cambridge Philosophical Society, 1927
The source of light used as a background is an important factor in determining the convenience and accuracy of ultra-violet absorption work, etc. If a source of light of constant intensity is available, a direct comparison method can be used and it is only necessary to calibrate the plates.
