Secondary standard stars for absolute spectrophotometry
, 1983Based on an adopted absolute spectral energy distribution for the primary standard star Alpha Lyrae, absolute fluxes are given for the four very metal-deficient F type subdwarfs HD 19445, HD 84937, BD + 26.2606 deg, and BD + 17.4703 deg.

AbstractSpectroscopy is the study of the interaction of light with matter. By observing how light interacts with matter—through reflection, refraction, elastic scattering, absorbance, inelastic scattering, and emission—it is possible to (1) identify the wavelengths of light that interact with atoms and molecules, or (2) quantify the amount of light ...

Darkening patches on the skin can result in great distress for the patient. However, definitive diagnosis between the many possible causes and effective treatment can be very hard for the medical practitioner to achieve. This is the first major professional reference with systematic coverage of diagnosis and the various treatment options, and it will ...

Colorimetry by Abridged Spectrophotometry
Journal of the Optical Society of America, 1949It seems to be generally conceded that the results obtained with a photoelectric colorimeter are significant only when the spectral characteristics of the sample and standard are similar. When this is the case, the selected ordinate method of integrating spectrophotometric data can be greatly abridged, a single selected ordinate being adequate under ...

Spectrophotometry with Gaia [PDF]
Gaia is an all-sky survey satellite, to be launched by ESA in late 2011, to obtain parallaxes and proper motions to microarcsecond precision, radial velocities and astrophysical parameters for about 109 objects down to a limiting magnitude of 20mag, which means about 104 times more stars than observed with Hipparcos mission.
