Identification of natural and synthetic fibres by photoacoustic spectrophotometry in the near-infrared region

open access: closedForensic Science International, 1988
Abstract Qualitative analysis and composition among cotton and polyester (terene) fibres and their forensic characterisation have been carried out using near-infrared photoacoustic spectroscopic technique. The different ratio of their mixtures and effect of dye additive have also been evaluated in the present work.

Balloon-borne far-infrared spectrophotometry of the galactic center region

open access: closedAdvances in Space Research, 1985
Abstract Far-infrared observations of the Galactic Center have been carried through with the MPE Im balloon-borne telescope “Golden Dragon”. The measurements are composed of photometric scanning (33–95 μm) of the inner 4′×4′ and low resolution spectroscopy ( δ ν = 10 cm −1 ) of the center and of a position approximately 1.5′ to the north.

Spectrophotometry of Human Hemoglobin in the near Infrared Region from 1000 to 2500 nm

open access: closedJournal of Near Infrared Spectroscopy, 1994
Absorbance and first and second derivative absorbance spectra and quarter-millimolar absorptivity coefficients for hemoglobin species including oxy-, deoxy-, carboxy- and methemoglobin in the visible and in the near infrared regions from 620 nm to 2500 nm are presented.

Deciphering the JWST spectrum of a `little red dot' at z~4.53: An obscured AGN and its star-forming host

Astronomy & Astrophysics, 2023
JWST has revealed a class of numerous, extremely compact sources with rest-frame red optical/near-infrared (NIR) and blue ultraviolet (UV) colours nicknamed `little red dots'. We present one of the highest signal-to-noise ratio JWST NIRSpec prism spectra

Regional differences of cerebral hemoglobin concentration in preterm infants measured by near infrared spectrophotometry

Technology and Health Care, 1999
Near infrared spectrophotometry has been used to measure total cerebral hemoglobin concentration (μmol/l) as a major indicator of the oxygen transport capacity in neonates. The aim of this study was to find out how the position of the probe influences the quality of the measurement and the actual cerebral hemoglobin concentration-values.
