High Resolution, Differential, Near-infrared Transmission Spectroscopy of GJ 1214b

open access: yes, 2011
The nearby star GJ 1214 hosts a planet intermediate in radius and mass between Earth and Neptune, resulting in some uncertainty as to its nature. We have observed this planet, GJ 1214b, during transit with the high-resolution, near-infrared NIRSPEC ...

Monoclonal Antibodies Accessing the Cytosol of Living Cells and Binding to Polo‐Like Kinase 1 Interdomain Linker Affect Mitotic Behavior

open access: yesChemBioChem, Volume 27, Issue 9, 14 May 2026.
Monoclonal antibodies targeting the interdomain region of polo‐like kinase 1 (PLK1) were delivered into living HeLa cells by electroporation to directly modulate mitotic progression. This intracellular antibody approach provides a new tool to probe PLK1 function and highlights the potential of antibodies to regulate key mitotic regulators inside cells.

Outflow in Overlooked Luminous Quasar: Subaru Observations of AKARI J1757+5907

open access: yes, 2011
We present Subaru observations of the newly discovered luminous quasar AKARI J1757+5907, which shows an absorption outflow in its spectrum. The absorption consists of 9 distinct troughs, and our analysis focuses on the troughs at ~ -1000$ km s^{-1} for ...

From Wet Chemistry to Portable NIR: Robust High‐Throughput Compositional Models for Biomass Pretreatment

open access: yesJournal of Chemometrics, Volume 40, Issue 5, May 2026.
ABSTRACT This study demonstrates a robust chemometric framework for high‐throughput compositional analysis of lignocellulosic biomass using a portable near‐infrared (NIR) spectrometer. Sugarcane bagasse solids produced by pressurized solvent fractionation (PSF) under batch and continuous conditions were analyzed to predict cellulose, hemicellulose, and

Evaluation of the Color Changing of Flux‐Synthesized Beryl by Ni Doping Using CIE1976 Color Parameters

open access: yesEuropean Journal of Inorganic Chemistry, Volume 29, Issue 13, 1 May 2026.
Comprehensive quantitative analysis of the relationship between NiO concentration and CIE1976 color parameters in Ni‐beryl crystals. Rough beryl contains various transition metal species owing to its geological formation conditions, and their concentrations largely determine the resulting crystal's color—a key physical property that strongly influences

pH‐Shift‐Prepared Chlorella pyrenoidosa Protein/Peptide–Calcium Complexes Improve Skeletal Health by Enhanced Intestinal Calcium Utilization in Calcium‐Deficient Rats

open access: yesFood Frontiers, Volume 7, Issue 3, May 2026.
ABSTRACT Calcium carbonate supplements often exhibit limited solubility and gastrointestinal precipitation, restricting calcium availability. To address this limitation, an enzyme‐free pH‐shift strategy was applied to prepare Chlorella pyrenoidosa protein (CPP)/peptide–calcium complexes (pH–Ca) and to evaluate their effects on calcium utilization in ...

Antistatic sprays [PDF]

open access: yes
Antistatic sprays from several different manufacturers are examined. The sprays are examined for contamination potential (i.e., outgassing and nonvolatile residue), corrosiveness on an aluminum mirror surface, and electrostatic effectiveness. In addition,
