Inorganic sunscreens containing the UV filters titanium dioxide (TiO2) and/or zinc oxide (ZnO) alleviated various biomarkers of photoaging in human dermal fibroblasts, at a gene and protein level. The study provides novel insights that observe the impact of inorganic photoprotection through the molecular biology of skin.

Blue organic seven segment display based on poly (9,9-dioctyfluorene)with β-phase emission [PDF]
In this work, organic seven segment displays based on poly(9,9-dioctyfluorene), PFO, have been fabricated. PFO has consolidated as an attractive material for PLEDs due to its efficient blue emission [1] and high hole mobility. Additionally, PFO has a

Recurrent hot droughts cause persistent legacy effects in a temperate Scots Pine forest
A series of hot drought events caused persistent legacy effects in a Scots Pine forest, with severe negative impacts on ecosystem carbon fluxes. Abstract Recent hot‐dry events have caused significant impacts and legacy effects in temperate ecosystems. Here, we investigate legacy effects of the 2018 hot drought on a Pinus sylvestris L.

No legacy effects of severe drought on carbon and water fluxes in a Mediterranean oak forest
A Mediterranean Quercus ilex forest was severely affected by a drought in 2017 but fully recovered in the following year, supported by favourable weather and growing conditions both before and after the event. Abstract Severe droughts affect vegetation through several processes, such as hydraulic failure, early leaf senescence, depletion of carbon ...
