Long term spectral irradiance measurements of a 1000-watt xenon arc lamp [PDF]
Spectral irradiance measurements over the range of 200 to 1060 nm were made on a 1000-watt xenon arc lamp over a period of 1500 hours. Four sets of measurements were made after periods of 70, 525, 1000, and 1500 hours of operation.

Abstract Marine cold‐air outbreaks (MCAOs) drive significant evolutions in marine boundary layer clouds and play a crucial role in high‐latitude climate systems. This study examines the variability of cloud particle size distributions (PSDs) in high‐latitude MCAOs and how well their spectral shapes are represented by the gamma shape parameter μ used in

The Remarkable 2024 North Atlantic Mid‐Season Hurricane Lull
Abstract The 2024 North Atlantic (hereafter Atlantic) hurricane season started quickly, with the earliest Category 5 on record (Beryl) and three hurricanes forming through 14 August. Following Ernesto's dissipation on 20 August, the Atlantic hurricane season became extremely quiet during the climatological peak of hurricane season, with only one ...

Impacts of Vegetation Greening on Summer Mean and Extreme Land Surface Temperatures in Eastern China
Abstract Vegetation greening in China is known to cool the land surface by altering the energy budget through biophysical processes. However, its mitigation effects on extreme temperatures and the underlying mechanisms remain poorly understood. Here, we use coupled land‐atmosphere model simulations to quantitatively assess the effects of vegetation ...
