Spectroscopic Investigation of Polysulfide Redox Evolution in Catholyte Solutions for Potassium–Sulfur Batteries

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Potassium–sulfur batteries are investigated using UV–vis spectroscopy to track the evolution of potassium polysulfide species at elevated temperature. The study reveals sulfur radical anions as key intermediates and shows how solvent composition and cell design influence polysulfide stability, redox behavior, and cycling performance, providing insights

Spectroscopic binary frequency among CNO stars

open access: yesThe Astrophysical Journal Supplement Series, 1988

Nanoengineered Binetworks in Multifunctional Anionic Block Polymer Mesoblends for Improved Mechanical Properties

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Mesoblends consist of a nanostructured polymer into which a second polymer is imbibed with a selective solvent. In this work, a solvent‐templatable pentablock terpolymer possessing a sulfonated midblock is modified with a hydrophilic polymer that is photocrosslinked in situ, yielding a hierarchical binetwork.

The period distribution of close binary systems

open access: yes, 1979
The analysis of the period distribution of eclipsing and spectroscopic binary systems shows the presence of some secondary maxima, which cannot depend on selection effects. These secondary maxima are mainly due to late type stars, as can be seen from the

Chiral Phase Change Nanomaterials

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
This work demonstrates reversible, non‐volatile phase transitions in chiral Ge2${\rm Ge}_2$Sb2${\rm Sb}_2$Te5${\rm Te}_5$ (GST) nanohelices for high‐speed optical modulation of chirality and dynamic control of the state of polarization (SOP). The chiral nanostructures are fabricated using a highly directional, wafer‐scale physical vapor deposition ...

THREE SPECTROSCOPIC BINARIES IN THE BRIGHT STAR CATALOG SUPPLEMENT

open access: yesRevista Mexicana de Astronomía y Astrofísica, 2019
This paper presents spectroscopic orbits of three binaries, HD 121212, HD 148434 and HD 148912, with evolved primaries and periods of order a year, found in a survey of late-type stars listed in the Supplement to the Yale Bright Star Catalog. All the orbits were determined from observations made with the DAO 1.2-m telescope and coudé spectrograph ...

Microlensing search for extra solar planets

open access: yes, 2015
Gravitational microlensing may be used to probe distant stars for planetary companions. The presence of a planet in the vicinity of a star acting as the lens may cause a short lived anomaly in the observed lightcurve of the lensing event.

A Holistic Stabilization of the Anode in Lithium‐Sulfur Batteries Through a Ternary Alloy Fusion

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
LiTeAl anodes fabricated through a scalable thermal fusion technique holistically addresses the stability issues faced by lithium‐metal anodes in lithium–sulfur batteries. Aluminum forming a skeletal network with lithium suppresses dendrite growth and enhances energy density, while tellurium forming a robust SEI facilitates Li+‐ion flow.

Stellar Parameters and Orbital Period Estimates for Composite-spectrum Subdwarf + Main-sequence Binaries from LAMOST

open access: yesThe Astrophysical Journal
Hot subdwarf (sdB) stars in binary systems with main-sequence (MS) companions provide valuable insights into mass transfer and envelope ejection processes in binary evolution.
