Reference database design for the automated analysis of microplastic samples based on Fourier transform infrared (FTIR) spectroscopy

open access: yesAnalytical and Bioanalytical Chemistry, 2018
The identification of microplastics becomes increasingly challenging with decreasing particle size and increasing sample heterogeneity. The analysis of microplastic samples by Fourier transform infrared (FTIR) spectroscopy is a versatile, bias-free tool ...

Monitoring wine aging with Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy (FT-IR)

open access: yesBIO Web of Conferences, 2015
Oak wood has commonly been used in wine aging but recently other wood types such as Acacia and Chestnut, have attracted the interest of the researchers due to their possible positive contribution to wine quality. However, only the use of oak and chestnut

Comparison of Raman and Fourier Transform Infrared Spectroscopy for the Quantification of Microplastics in the Aquatic Environment.

open access: yesEnvironmental Science and Technology, 2018
Microplastics (MPs, 500 μm were visually sorted and manually analyzed by μ-Raman and attenuated total reflection (ATR)-FTIR spectroscopy. Microplastics ≤500 μm were concentrated on gold-coated filters and analyzed by automated single-particle exploration

Protocol for bacterial typing using Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy

open access: yesSTAR Protocols, 2023
Summary: The Fourier transform infrared (FT-IR) signals obtained from bacterial samples are specific and reproducible, making FT-IR an efficient tool for bacterial typing at a subspecies level.

Optical frequency comb Fourier transform cavity ring-down spectroscopy [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv, 2022
We demonstrate broadband and sensitive cavity ring-down spectroscopy using a near infrared frequency comb and a time-resolved Fourier transform spectrometer. The cavity decays are measured simultaneously and spectrally sorted, leading to purely exponential decays for each spectral element.
