Applications of Functional Near-Infrared Spectroscopy (fNIRS) Neuroimaging in Exercise–Cognition Science: A Systematic, Methodology-Focused Review

open access: yesJournal of Clinical Medicine, 2018
For cognitive processes to function well, it is essential that the brain is optimally supplied with oxygen and blood. In recent years, evidence has emerged suggesting that cerebral oxygenation and hemodynamics can be modified with physical activity.

Design and Evaluation of 3D‐Printed Polylactic Acid Composites Reinforced with Biodegradable Bamboo Powder and Jute Powder

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
The study investigates 3D‐printed polylactic acid (PLA) composites with biodegradable bamboo and jute powder fillers. Mechanical, thermal, structural properties, and rheological behavior are discussed to evaluate composite performance. Morphological characterization indicates uniform dispersion and adhesion of the fillers in the PLA matrix with the ...

Near-infrared laser spectroscopy of NiI [PDF]

open access: yesThe Journal of Chemical Physics, 2004
Laser-induced fluorescence spectrum of NiI in the near infrared region of 714–770 nm has been recorded. Seven bands belonging to three electronic transition systems were observed and analyzed: the (0,0), (1,0), and (2,0) bands of [13.3] 2Σ+-A 2Π3/2 system; the (1,1) and (0,1) bands of [13.9] 2Π3/2-X 2Δ5/2 system; and the (0,0) and (1,0) bands of [13.9]

The Standardizability of Type Ia Supernovae in the Near-Infrared: Evidence for a Peak Luminosity-Decline Rate Relation in the Near-Infrared [PDF]

open access: yes, 2012
We analyze the standardizability of Type Ia supernovae (SNe Ia) in the near-infrared (NIR) by investigating the correlation between observed peak NIR absolute magnitude and post-maximum B-band decline rate. A sample of 27 low-redshift SNe Ia observed by the Carnegie Supernova Project between 2004 to 2007 is used.
