Resolving the Optical Spectrum of Water: Coordination and Electrostatic Effects
Physical Review Letters, 2008The optical absorption of small water clusters, water chains, liquid water, and crystalline ice is analyzed computationally. We identify two competing mechanisms determining the onset of the optical absorption: Electronic transitions involving surface molecules of finite clusters or chains cause a redshift upon molecular aggregation compared to ...

Time resolved spectrum of the fuse arc plasma
Thin Solid Films, 1999This paper presents the radiation spectrum of the arc plasma in a simple experimental model of a high voltage, high breaking capacity (HBC) fuse. A crowbar circuit is applied to force the arcing current to zero. A 62.5 μm diameter multi-mode silica fibre is used as a light-pipe to carry the plasma radiation from within the arc space of the experimental

The rotationally resolved electronic spectrum of p-cyanophenol
Phys. Chem. Chem. Phys., 2002The electronic origin transition of p-cyanophenol (4-hydroxy-benzonitrile) at 35547.46 cm−1 was examined using rotationally resolved LIF spectroscopy. The experimentally determined inertial parameters are reported and compared to the results of ab initio calculations. The S1-lifetime of p-cyanophenol is determined to be 10.6 ± 3 ns, considerably longer

On Resolvent Identities in Gaussian Ensembles at the Edge of the Spectrum
, 2008We obtain the recursive identities for the joint moments of the traces of the powers of the resolvent for Gaussian ensembles of random matrices at the soft and hard edges of the spectrum.

[A new measurement method of time-resolved spectrum].
Guang pu xue yu guang pu fen xi = Guang pu, 2010A new method for measuring time-resolved spectrum (TRS) is brought forward. Programming with assemble language controlled the micro-control-processor (AT89C51), and a kind of peripheral circuit constituted the drive circuit, which drived the stepping motor to run the monochromator.

Time-resolved fluorescence spectrum of Quinacrine Mustard
Optics Communications, 1980Abstract Time-resolved fluorescence spectrum of Quinacrine Mustard in acetate buffer solution (pH 4.6) under excitation of subnanosecond laser pulses is reported. The decay curve has been found to consist of three exponential components, whose amplitudes depend on both excitation and observation wavelengths.

Time-resolved phosphorescence spectrum of propynal vapor
Journal of Molecular Spectroscopy, 1989Abstract The phosphorescence spectrum of gaseous propynal (HCCCHO) is measured by time-resolved techniques following pulsed ( T 1 via direct optical pumping into the S 0 → T 1 absorption transition and (ii) four single vibronic levels (SVL) of S 1 ( O 0 , 6 1 , 4 1 , and 2 1 ).

High-Speed, Time-Resolved Spectrum of a Lightning Stroke
Science, 1966The first time-resolved spectrum of a return stroke between the cloud and ground has been obtained with a slitless spectrograph. The time for luminosity to rise from zero to its peak in a section of the channel is 10 microseconds or less, and the intense emission lines are attributed to singly ionized nitrogen atoms.
