Spectrum of signals

open access: yesThe Journal of Fourier Analysis and Applications, 2001
This paper presents a characterization of high frequency signals that is easier to verify than the one given by Boas. This result, combined with Bang's characterization of band-limited signals, presents necessary and sufficient conditions for a finite-energy signal \(f\) to be a band-pass frequency signal (Corollary 1) or a band-stop frequency signal ...

On the spectrum of silicon; with a note on the spectrum of fluorine [PDF]

open access: yesProceedings of the Royal Society of London. Series A, Containing Papers of a Mathematical and Physical Character, 1905
In a recent paper M. A. de Gramont questions the silicon origin of certain lines, viz.: λ 4089·1, λ 4096·9, and λ 4116·4, grouped together as Group IV by Sir Norman Lockyer who ascribes them to the element named. He says: “J’ajouterai que les lignes du groupe IV, qui indiqueraient, d’aprés Lockyer, une température excessive, ont toujours ...

Circulating tumor DNA monitoring and blood tumor mutational burden in patients with metastatic solid tumors treated with atezolizumab

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
In patients treated with atezolizumab as a part of the MyPathway (NCT02091141) trial, pre‐treatment ctDNA tumor fraction at high levels was associated with poor outcomes (radiographic response, progression‐free survival, and overall survival) but better sensitivity for blood tumor mutational burden (bTMB).

The Social Construction of Dreaming in College Culture [PDF]

open access: yes, 2017
Cultural anthropologists have long been interested in the dream-sharing practices of exotic peoples. But what about U.S. college students? Based on research on UNH’s campus, this article shows that “dream talk” is more common—and more important—than we ...

Dose‐dependent induction of epithelial‐mesenchymal transition in 3D melanoma models by non‐thermal plasma treatment

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Non‐thermal plasma treatment of melanoma cells induced epithelial‐mesenchymal transition (EMT) in a dose‐dependent fashion. This report highlights the critical need to further investigate potential adverse effects of non‐thermal plasma for cancer therapy and to optimize treatment parameters for clinical translation. Despite the promising results of non‐

2012: The End of the World as We Know It? [PDF]

open access: yes, 2013
Many so-called “2012 doomsayers theorists,” such as John Major Jenkins and Jose Arguelles successfully convinced a portion of the modern Western world that the ancient Maya had predicted the end of the world.

Genomics‐led approach to drug testing in models of undifferentiated pleomorphic sarcoma

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
GA text Genomic data from undifferentiated pleomorphic sarcoma patients and preclinical models were used to inform a targeted drug screen. Selected compounds were tested in 2D and 3D cultures of UPS cell lines. A combination of trametinib and infigratinib was synergistic in the majority of UPS cell lines tested, which was further confirmed in an ex ...

EMT‐associated bias in the Parsortix® system observed with pancreatic cancer cell lines

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
The Parsortix® system was tested for CTC enrichment using pancreatic cancer cell lines with different EMT phenotypes. Spike‐in experiments showed lower recovery of mesenchymal‐like cells. This was confirmed with an EMT‐inducible breast cancer cell line.

Feasibility study of the Digital Patient Benefit Assessment Scale (P-BAS): A Digital Tool to Assess Individual Patient Goals

open access: yesGerontology and Geriatric Medicine
The study objective was to assess the feasibility of the Patient Benefit Assessment Scale (P-BAS), a digital tool designed to enable older outpatients (≥70 years) to elucidate at home their individual goals regarding their current medical issue.
