Motor Functioning in Autistic Spectrum Disorders: A Preliminary Analysis

The Journal of Neuropsychiatry and Clinical Neurosciences, 2012
The study sought to identify differences in motor functioning between autism and Asperger syndrome while also assessing the diagnostic contribution of such assessment. A sample of 16 individuals with autism and 10 with Asperger syndrome completed the Dean-Woodcock Sensory-Motor Battery, and outcomes were compared.

Executive Function in High-Functioning Autism Spectrum Disorder: A Meta-analysis of fMRI Studies

Journal of Autism and Developmental Disorders, 2020
Abnormalities in executive function (EF) are clinical markers for autism spectrum disorder (ASD). However, the neural mechanisms underlying abnormal EF in ASD remain unclear. This meta-analysis investigated the construct, abnormalities, and age-related changes of EF in ASD. Thirty-three fMRI studies of inhibition, updating, and switching in individuals

A bibliometric analysis of executive functions in autism spectrum disorder

Current Psychology, 2021
Executive Functions (EFs) is one of the pervasive areas of cognitive science that has received much attention in Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD). Given the importance as well as the breadth and complexity of the various disciplines involved, the present study examined EFs literature over a period of thirty years.

Performance function for equally-spaced digital spectrum analysis

IEEE Transactions on Instrumentation and Measurement, 2001
A different procedure for evaluating the errors introduced by the equally-spaced sampling technique in the asynchronous spectral analysis of a periodic signal was introduced. It is based on the assumption that the initial sampling instant can be randomized so that each estimated spectral component can be considered a random variable characterized by ...

Spatial and temporal spectra of periodic functions for spectrum analysis

Applied Optics, 1984
Both the spatial and the temporal spectra of reference signals used in interferometric spectrum analyzers affect the system performance. We define a class of bandlimited reference signals that have N discrete frequency components of equal magnitude. We show that the system performance is primarily determined by the aperture weighting function and is ...

A Multi-Factorial Assessment of Functional Human Autistic Spectrum Brain Network Analysis

2021 IEEE International Conference on Bioinformatics and Biomedicine (BIBM), 2021
The variability of the results obtained by the statistical analysis of functional human brain networks depend on multiple factors such as: the source of the fMRI data, the brain parcellations, the graph theory measures, and the threshold values applied to the functional connectivity matrices to obtain adjacency matrices of sparse graphs. Therefore, the

Classification of Autism Spectrum Disorder From EEG-Based Functional Brain Connectivity Analysis

Neural Computation, 2021
Abstract Autism is a psychiatric condition that is typically diagnosed with behavioral assessment methods. Recent years have seen a rise in the number of children with autism. Since this could have serious health and socioeconomic consequences, it is imperative to investigate how to develop strategies for an early diagnosis that might ...

Autonomic function in narcolepsy: power spectrum analysis of heart rate variability

Journal of Neurology, 1997
Ten narcoleptic patients that had never been treated previously and ten healthy volunteers of comparable age underwent 48-h polygraphic recording to assess the effects of wakefulness and sleep on beat-to-beat heart rate variability by means of power spectrum analysis.

Narratives of children with high-functioning autism spectrum disorder: A meta-analysis

Research in Developmental Disabilities, 2016
The aim of this meta-analysis was to analyze the narrative performance of children and adolescents with high-functioning Autism Spectrum Disorders (ASD) in terms of microstructure, macrostructure and internal state language.A systematic literature search yielded 24 studies that met the predetermined inclusion criteria.

Diffusion Time Spectrum Analysis Observation of Aquaporin Functional Dynamics

ISMRM Annual Meeting
The function of water molecule exchange on the plasma membrane by aquaporins was evaluated using HEK293T cultured cells. Time-dependent diffusion magnetic resonance imaging (MRI), in which diffusion time (DT) was varied in 14 steps from 13 to 784 ms, was used to observe differences in water molecules and the permeability of the cell membrane with and ...
